    This is great, I completely get the whole messy start up and finding interesting shapes in the looseness of the initial sketch, that process for me is one of the most exciting parts of drawing a piece of artwork.

    really like how you used the sketch in the coloring process, I think it preserves much of the original idea/feeling instead of coloring a clean up

    I just wanted to share that I really enjoyed watching this video. Just watching someone else draw and talk about his thought process was incomprehensibly soothing. I don't spend any time on drawing anymore, but this is one the highlights of my day.

    So interesting to see someone so renown being so honest about having "mistakes keeping us company throughout the process". I personally get so lost sometimes into correcting those mistakes and I eventually get stuck with a over-synthetic feeling to the painting. Very interesting breakdown of the process, the comments are really encouraging!

    i learned a lot from this wow! i know there's a huge chunk of information missing when i watch pro artists do their work, and now that huge gap has been filled thanks to this step-by-step process. this looks a bit messy but it is actuallt very systematic lol idk how to explain. everything just comes off in the right way at the end. thank you so much dave!

    It's so refreshing to hear another artist encourage to keep lines loose and to even keep the under drawing. Also learned more about painting ugly. Too many channels emphasizing on "confident" lines. I personally have always liked the look of the loose sketch, and whenever I erased The loose lines in traditional sketching I feel like I've lost something

    Really enjoyed seeing this process! It's great to see a successful professional with a sketchy, messy, experimental method of working - this is also my preferred way of painting. I have felt pressure to change and be more methodical and clean... but this has helped me feel a lot better about it. :D

    I love the moustache! I think I like it more on part where you start having that moustache than the finished art. The finished art feels too smooth for me.

    Oh awesome. I've been watching Dave on Twitch for a while for both his art and WoW playing :). Great video. I have really been getting interested in concept art and design lately. Thanks for the awesome video Stan. I highly recommend Dave Greco's KZread and Twitch channels. It's very interesting to watch him work on his concept art live. Dave: "I'm just putting down some loose scribbles to generate ideas." Me: "Dang that is better than most of my drawings already."

    The closed eye was so disturbing that I spent couple minutes observing how closing an eye affects it’s position relatively to the other one so now I know that both parts close almost equally and the line should be where the bottom of the other eye is. It’s funny how I learned it 😂

    This definitely makes sense and is kinda how I like to work but more defined because I don't know what I'm doing. 😆 About a year into digital. The part about the smaller shapes really got me. I don't think about them in the way he describes.
