I’ve tried Character animate pro for a month and few days now. It’s more like a vtuber thing. I learnt it in a week. The cons are u can’t do Background animation eg, clouds moving and lollipops swaying. It requires a lot of frames and character animate will lag. I also have trouble with lip syncing, but it’s not a problem if I put audio to script and manually change the mouth shapes. Form what I see, I think I’ll convert to Cartoon animator. It can do more actions and the Bowing of the head seems smooth.

I agree with the characterization of both programs, CA5 finally allowing an improved workflow between Affinity vector creation and the springbones sold me after dealing with too many fiddly bits in Moho. I'll have to try motion capture more later but I'm not a character animator so that's above my pay grade. Curious what the anime clip was from at the end of this video?....always looking to check out a new series and I don't recognize that one.

I'm not an expert, but speaking of pricing, Character Animator have a relatively high monthly subscription, $21 per month, while Cartoon Animator has a lifetime payment of $149. If you plan to use it for a long time, you are better off buying Cartoon Animator which also has more tools

Subscription based software is satanic. Your creations are held hostage to a monthly ransom. I much prefer one-time-purchases even if I end up spending more at the outset.

so what is your opinion? What program do you like better and why all I got was a water down maybe you could like this maybe you could like that which really doesn't say anything to me everything you said was just kind of bland and safe, but it was somewhere informative so thank you

Great video. One video you could do is how Character Animator integrate with EA and all. Also using NDI to pipe your CA streaming interface directly into your streaming software (like OBS) is pretty cool and easy to use. Oh and the free version of Character animator doesn’t allow you EDITING of custom puppet BUT you can open a puppet that is already made by someone who has the full program. So if you want to make puppets for all your friends, they won’t need to buy the program, just the free version will be enough for them to use the puppet both for recording and for live streaming.

So do you need any add-ons to use your webcam for facial animation in Cartoon Animator, or does this work with the basic package?

Hey 😊 - Yes, you will need to purchase the webcam addon or the more expensive iPhone facial app addon for Cartoon Animator 5 for facial animation. Hope this helps

In this video they refer to 'Cartoon Animator' v 'Adobe Character Animator' - which does character rigging, facial tracking, live streaming etc. This different from another Adobe program called 'Adobe Animate' which is a animation program where you can create/draw characters and animate them frame by frame :)

Major turnoff for the adobe cartoon creator simply because of the subscription crap! That's the only thing that kills it if Only They had a one-time payment and that's it be done with that but no you got to pay rent on top of every other subscription you have!

Just adding my two cents to say Skill share is worth it. I spend 30 minutes to an hour every day refreshing my vide editing skills. Some of the teachers are very accomplished KZreadrs, but I still think the service is great. 😎

U biought the addon for cartoon animator 5 and then it disappeared off my members account. I talk to them, and gave them my pal pal confirmation of payment, which was the only thing they gave me, and they just instead asked for the order number, which they never gave me. And then before I could even answer back they presum,ed that my complaint was resolved. These guys are just wankers.
