I just wanted to thank you for posting your lectures, they have allowed me to actually understand the class because my professor teaches like we have a master in the field and no one understands anything.

Question regarding conjugation, not sure if understood the meaning of conjugation correctly. Conjugation has always to do something with creating pili; pili itself are necessary to transfer bacterial DNA; if a bacterium is F+ this means it has only the property of creating such pili; there has nothing been said about other properties etc. being transfered, correct? Hope you get what I mean. I understood the principle, not sure though if I understood the big picture. Or will be the property of being able to create pili transfered in addition to other information (bacterial DNA etc.)? About transformation: How can one influence the repair system, in order to have more bacteria with the new donor DNA (= which selective media)? Would you also write two or three sentences about transposons?
