"You need to get a hobby" This made my blood boil. The insensitivity of some humans is mind boggling. Thank goodness you met the 3rd Angel. You did this Ren, your tenacious attitude, never giving up. So glad you found refuge within homes of others that understood your struggle with pain. I applaud your stubbornness and willingness to find help. If it only took love and admiration to heal, you would be in rude health. Keep going you remarkable man, paying it forward. Your Ali reach is connecting with the world. 🥊

@seth1455 common tactic with drs who don't know what's wrong. They go to the it's all in your mind. Push the latest drug for mh. Have you ever wondered why everyone gets the same antidepressants. Kick backs. People with me have this stigma that they just need to push through and be positive. This ruins lives 💔 as makes them much more severe. One dr told me drs should listen to patients more, the patients are giving you the clues. Many patients spend so much money trying as ren did. They fight hard and definitely not lack of positive attitude. You lose years of your life til you find the right dr diagnosis and treatment. We need funding as hiv got. Thank you for such a passionate response. So grateful to ren for telling his journey. Gives hope 🤍

I have a life altering illness like, Ren. I’m totally disabled. I used to be an athlete that traveled the world. Doctors told me to go on an anti-depressant. That there’s nothing wrong. Things to do that within the chronic illness community we know will make us worse. It’s pathetic tbh.

It’s so crazy that England and Wales have an average of 1500 cases Lyme disease a year and it’s nearly unheard of there but Texas has an average of 85 cases a year and everyone I know in Texas is aware and cautious of Lyme disease and its symptoms. I can’t believe it took so long for medical professionals to correctly diagnose Ren, it’s gut wrenching and heartbreaking to listen to his experience and walk with him through his memories of pain and suffering, it’s hard to share a story so detailed and personal like this but by sharing it he’s really saving the lives and souls of others. Others who may be suffering from Lyme disease and don’t know it, who have been given the worst cards in life and can’t see things getting better, and even those who just feel lost in the fog of life

Yeah. Lyme Disease is actually a huge issue in the UK, and yet, the awareness is abysmal, even among medical professionals. The really terrible part is that the test for Lyme is really basic and cheap. And while it might not show positive during the initial infection, a simple second test a few months later will be more reliable. And if caught early, treatment for Lyme is also fairly basic and inexpensive. It really is criminal that it isn't the standard protocol everywhere to just toss that test in, even if it's a longshot.

My doctor has refused to test me for Lyme for years, because the test is unreliable. I’m sure I have it. I wish it would have been caught (by diagnosis) years ago, when antibiotics could have helped. Now I have arthritis, and am in chronic pain, and looking for a new doctor.

I am a newborn neophyte, a follower of Ren. So I'm in the full story from the beginning. One thing I kept wondering was that it took a shocking amount of time to get the correct diagnosis. For example, in Poland there has been constant talk about ticks for years. I don't know the disease statistics, but I haven't met a single person who hasn't heard about it. And yes, if you are going to the forest or a meadows, it is best to check yourself thoroughly afterwards, and it is not for sporting. If you have dogs, not providing them with regular medical protection, is like a death sentence.

It really does doesn't it? I'm also coming up on 20 years myself. Currently fighting insurance to cover the medical costs that have finally allowed me to have an almost normal life. Cards are tapped out, and there is no way to cover it this month. My appointment is on my birthday too top it off. Disability hearing keeps telling me I'm young enough that I may one day be OK. Yet my diagnoses are ALL degenerative......literally only getting worse every time I wake up. It makes me so furious that there are no words to describe the sinking dark void ahead of me. It's devastatingly sad to hear about your experience of being let down by the NHS. I worked for the NHS for eight years and saw far too many young people not being taken seriously. Please know that most of the staff are simply doing the best they can in a horribly stretched service. I know that this does not make up for your experience, but many people like myself feel desperately sad about the state of the service right now and how it lets down so many.

We all appricate and know with every cell of our being that the NHS is stretched and so are the staff; some do genuinely care. All are restricted by a system which doesnt meet the needs of the population. The NHS keeps you alive. It doesnt help you live. The guilt felt by patients for wanting help from a system that tells you its stretched, at capsity ect while tell you the patient that your 'complex'; is a truely painful guilt. The sort of guilt that makes you crawl into a hole and bother no one. Living a torturous exsistance watching rhe light change on the ceiling, while everyone thinks your out there living

I think every single healthcare worker, nurse, and doctor should be made to watch these videos, in full (no edits!!!!)! I work in a hospital, and I see the lack of empathy, compassion, and understanding of the total process someone goes through with their illness. The absolute heartache of not knowing what's going on with you (or worse, nothing can be done to help you!!!), to the pure joy of being cured and gaining their lives back! For whatever reason, too many healthcare workers forget why they got into healthcare in the first place: to help make people's lives better! These videos are a real eye-opener!!! This takes real courage. Thank you!!!!

I wanted to write a proper comment since chapter one, but it is so difficult for me to find "good" words. I really don't know what to say. Something about how brave you are, how good it feels too listen to a person sharing themselves in such an authentic way, how hard it is to imagine the pain and suffering you have and had to endure. Many of the feelings you describe are familiar to me, but on a much lower scale, I can't even imagine how this must be in the intensity you experienced it. What I definitely take away from this is to be more patient with other people (at least I will try it). You never know what others are going through. You seemed to share a good part of your story before that, but as it turns out there is so much more and so many deeper layers to it. So I deeply appreciate you and your courage! May you life healthy, long and prosper 🖖💜

I had doctors scoff at me when I suggested testing for Lyme’s here in FL. Medical attitude hasn’t changed much in the last 15 years. Doctors still downplay it. Still question why they should test for it. I know 2 people with permanent limitations from Lyme. One tested negative for it 10 times over a year with only the last test showing a positive result. I think too many doctors have little regard for their patients. I’m glad you found something that has worked. Your genius needs to be put out to the world Ren. My parents didn't believe how bad it was and would leave me to piss myself bc I didn't even have the strength for the bathroom. With antibiotics i was cured in time for it to not be lifelong. That's bc we grew up hearing the horror of ticks. Crazy how we share an ocean and the internet but we didn't share that information to children worldwide. The fight that medical professionals have put up over the years is sickening. My friend’s beautiful intelligent son went down a horrible road of Lymes. The professional told her it was a behavioral issue and wanted to send him to a special ed for difficult slow kids. She self educated and became a warrior for him, eventually she found a series of treatments and diet that brought him back to life. The beautiful boy was well enough to start college a year early ( not the backward class) he is doing great. She is still speaking to groups and is pretty well known in our area. I always think about all the souls who didn’t have a warrior of their own. Thanks for sharing, it gives individuals hope and a hand to not feel so isolated

Something tells me your message will make it's way through - if not to medical professionals - then to would-be patients who won't be gaslit as easily as they might once have been. And to their supporters, us. We're quite capable of making some noise, together.

It’s so crazy how much you have suffered, endured and persevered only to turn around and help others as much as possible, as soon as you’re feeling better! There’s not another human being like you man. Now, when you gonna jump on that Metro beat? 😂❤ Long live the RENegades!

Your story is important in so many ways. I'm glad you decided to tell it. It contains just about everything we human beings are capable of - the good, the bad, the indifference and the clumsiness, as well as despair, hope, and endurance. I look forward to the next chapter, with gratitude to your angels.

I found HiRen in the midst of one of the darkest and most hopeless feeling times of my life, I honestly don’t know how bad it would’ve gotten without the beauty and inspiration of your art and story. Ty for surviving, creating and sharing yourself ✨🖤✨

Ren you are an amazing person and an inspiration. I have a weird sense of pride for you. I'm proud that you kept relentlessly fighting, I'm proud that you have such a good heart and choose to help the world instead of hurt it, like so many others. It's easy to ignore the troubles and darkness in the world when you are ill, or depressed. You are a part of a rare breed of people who don't give up and aren't afraid to bear their heart to the world. I'm proud that I know of a human that isn't afraid to face the darkness and and be the voice of reason in a world full off greed and self centeredness. I'm proud that I found your music and heard your story. I'm proud that I have gotten to share these things with my peers, most of who struggle with things like depression, illness, and addiction. You have saved so many lives and led many out of the darkness. Thank you.

I suffered for many years with Lyme disease as well. Repeated bells palsy, sunlight was excruciating, short term memory loss brain fog, pain, twitches etc. Ignored and blown off by doctors because they didn't know enough and didn't care to. Luckily I landed myself an angel doctor too. Brain scans show the white matter in the pons region... permanent damage from it. Who knows how it's still effecting me after all these years. Oil of oregano is still something I use and was prescribed by my 2nd Lymes Dr years later when I had a reoccurrence. It gets into all the hiding places that man made antibiotics do not. I'm so happy for you Ren.

Ren, your story has given me so much hope that I might be able to regain some semblance of a life some day. There aren’t words in the English language to convey this kind of hope when you’re as sick as I am, as you have been and as so many others are. It’s something I really needed right now when it seems like no matter what I try my symptoms persist, worsen and expand. You are truly a light shining into some of the darkest and most difficult to penetrate spaces. Even if I am not as lucky to recover, the light you bring and the hope that light carries are a gift that I will appreciate always. You are so, so loved. I hope you feel that and believe it and remember it whenever you start to feel the darkness.

It is heartbreaking to see how unknown it is to other country in a world like today. But thanks for bringing changes. And also thanks for your music. My mother was one of the first people to be diagnosed with Lyme's in Wisconsin. I was fairly young, maybe 10 (I'm now 50). They must have successfully diagnosed and treated her fairly quickly because she recovered fairly quickly I think (although parents don't always reveal hard times in their life to children). I actually thought they had decided they got the diagnosis wrong because her dentist had missed a dead tooth for a long time and once a root canal was performed she started feeling better. However, bringing up your story with her she indicated that they were separate issues and she had, in fact, been diagnosed correctly. We're so fortunate that diagnosed and treatment happened relatively quickly. I'm glad a competent doctor finally figured it out for you too, and treatment is giving you your life back. Hopefully your story will help many others.

I live in the Midwest (States) and my Dad lived in an area where the woods was his backyard. I remember being little and exploring and finding ticks on me every once in awhile usually on my scalp) my Step mom at the time would use nail polish remover on a Q tip to make them back out. You never want to just pull them out for fear of ripping their heads off. So I knew about the dangers of Lyme disease since I was little. I didn’t know how debilitating it was but I knew it was something you didn’t want. I won’t go out in the woods without pants, long sleeve shirts, hat and a repellent spray.
