I have been a long-time fan of this series, but just noticed how much detail was put into this animation like 1.) Most of Missy's actions are similar to what Duke did in the first animation 2.) When Missy turns on the light at the beginning, she also opens the curtain so that Duke won't pull the same trick she used on him 3.) A long time has passed since the first ep probably because she needed to get used to the power and learn more about Duke (Like how he has daddy issues) 4.) The fact that the castle was clean in the first ep, but slightly dusty in this animation shows the personality of the characters 5.) The way the castle is dusty but the bag Missy brought is even dustier shows how uninterested she is in returning to Melisa (I might be wrong in some of this, but it was still fun looking for details)

So she resurrected him just so she could kick him out of his own house, that is hilarious

I wouldn't exactly say she became more evil than him necessarily. More powerful? Perhaps but not more evil she has not lived as long as the duke has and remember he got VIP treatment in the underworld ok if it was just given to any mythical creature then the minotaur and centaur would be living better as well no he must have been VERY evil to get such VIP treatment so far that he gets a Jacuzzi and a swimming pool!

That dig about his father hurts so much more when we learn that he wanted to be nothing like his father.

At first I was surprised by the song choice, but I think it suits Missi. We know from the fact she was reading Twilight that she's a teenage girl from the modern era, or at least *was* a modern teen before her encounter with Duke. Most modern teenage girls don't listen to dark carabet, but many of them listen to pop, so it makes sense for pop to be playing while she is in control. I think it helps convey the fact that Missi is control this time: she gets to 'choose' the music because she's the one pulling the strings.

That's actually a really clever way of thinking of it, furthermore I also think the song choice is commentary on most girls who read stuff like Twilight. Think about it, most Twilight fans would be praying for Duke to come back to them but Missi's smarter than that; she remembers what Duke did to invade her privacy and even though the real Missi (as in one-not possessed by the cane) might take more calm action, the cane is probably just bringing out what she wanted to do and since she's evil in this form, it makes since she'd go all the way. Essentially Missi is different because she's reacting to this situation in the same way MOST young girls would react to a real life Twilight, hence the song choice.

The line about Duke wanting to be like his father seems interesting now since we see how much he was disgusted by his own father. Makes me wonder how much Missi knows about the relationship given we don't know how much time she's been in that house by herself studying the books, magic, and mastering the cane's powers.

Noah Lani if you don’t want to watch the 1st episode, basically Missi went inside the castle to (ironically) read Twilight. Duke basically trapped her in his castle, chased after her, put her in her dress and tried to woo her. At the end, Missi devised a plan to seduce Duke, and as he was trying to undress her on his throne, she opened all the curtains and burnt him. She also grabbed his cane to hit him, but she didn’t let go so she was possessed by the cane. She hates him because he basically tried to force her to be his lady luv.

Having seen the latest animatic... geez, that whole scene with the gargoyles must've been PTSD flashbacks for poor Duke when the coven got angry... honestly can't help feeling bad for him during this whole thing now

I like how Duke adjusted his hat when he saw his wand in the hands of the girl to show things just got serious.

Missi lighting the hall at 00:37 the same way Duke did in The Night is an extra slap in the face I can appreciate. XD

@@hoiimtemmie1972 Technically it was the cane that did it. While he may have got her in the dress and all that it wasn't until she took the cane at the end of the first song "The Night" that she became a vampire..the glowing eyes on the cane hint heavily toward the cane being sentient in some way.

I think the staff controls certain parts of the personality or certain actions, since Missy used the exact same movements as Duke did at some point.

I remember watching this a while ago when I was younger thinking that the lyrics were "how cute" instead of "fuck you" and would just watch this on repeat 😅

Duke in CH2: "Hot damn! I love being dead!" Missi: "Well, we can't have that, now can we?"
