Chapter 2 - RAW Speed (Honda CRF 300L)

Chapter 2 is about the RAW speed and capabilities of the CRF 300L.
We have been riding the motorcycles for over a year and wanted to showcase their versatility. From group rides, lonely expeditions, and fast pace rides, the CRF 300L has been up to the task!
Setups:
Both bikes have stock suspensions, but one had a spring-only upgrade to match the rider's weight.
Tires are the MAXXIS MAXXCROSS IT on the front and the MAXXIS MAXXCROSS SI on the back.
Tower: One Adventure Rally Tower.

    @@adv300l4 that's my point, I just like to warn people that no matter how you dress up these type of bikes, they are not true off road bikes even if skilled riders make them look that way. I went down this path with the KLX, modded it to the 'enth degree only to then finally just get a proper enduro bike. If one values the true off road experience over the road-ability, these are not the right tools for the job, and just end up being money pits that could have gone to an awesome used enduro bike. But I scored a cheap big bore KLX because some else discovered that before me. Anyways if ones happy with their bike, that's great. But this isn't even a beginner dirt bike (like the 230/250F), it's a beginner dual sport.

    Thank you! For deep sand, they would benefit from more power for sure and the suspension is indeed the weakest point of the bike. The real topic here is the price, reliability, and easy maintenance. The 300L isn't a race enduro bike, but it was never meant to be. It's a bike that is reasonably priced and takes you on most off-road trails and also rides highways without any problem. You have to know the bike's limitations and adapt your riding style. This is what makes them so fun to ride and make us take them for long days of riding.

    Yeah so, not really. The bike is best for people in their first couple years of riding. It's awesome for that. Don't go on trails more beyond the beginner terrain shown in this video though, or you could die. I own a 300L and (2) ktm 500's, but am getting rid of the 300L. A used ktm 500 for about the same price as a new crf300L is what you'll want after year 2 of riding. Don't listen to the myths saying they are too much maintenance or whatever, it's BS.

  • @adv300l4

    @adv300l4

    Жыл бұрын

    Thank you! One of the bikes is bone stock suspension wise. The other we just upgraded the front and rear springs to the rider’s weight. To be honest for normal riding they feel way better with a spring only upgrade but for fast riding on this big compressions the stiffer spring will give you even a faster rebound and will make it harder to control the bike. When you reach this speeds you need to be ready for an even more unstable platform with a stiffer spring on OEM shock and fork. Upgrading to something with rebound adjustment should be the safer solution.

    I’m sorry to disappoint you. One is bone stock performance wise (just skid plate, handlebar and the tower). The other is also stock except for a twinair air filter, stiffer springs, skid plate and tower. No ECUs, exhausts or aftermarket suspensions. EU versions and bone stock performance wise. We see a lot of money being spent on other bikes but they will never be an enduro bike. It’s better to spend it on fuel and riding time.
