You know what I would go absolutely feral over? If in the inevitable sequel(s) we get some Paper Mario references. A friendly goomba family walking by in the background, one of the kids has a blue hat, some dudes in weird uniforms with a X on them discreetly investigating things, a masked jester that secretly stares at Luigi for an uncomfortable amount of time. One thing though, that for the sake of everyone's sanity we probably shouldn't get, despite how desperately I want to see, is Count Bleck. He would just be too pretty for anyone to handle. Think about it, the gem, the cape, the *stars and actual galaxies inside the cape*, the spooky jack-o-lantern face, the monocle. Think what Illumination could do with the Count's already top tier character design, the absolute magic that would be wrought. If they put that man on a cinema screen for even a second the entire Mario fanbase will spontaneously combust, Count Bleck will be made the newest, most popular Tumblr sexyman despite being happily married to his bug wife, and the internet will never be the same. Any of the first three paper game's plot would make an absolutely wild movie though.

Oh my gosh, you are so right- Count Bleck animated by Illumination and played to that large an audience in the internet's current climate would take Tumblr by STORM- He wouldn't need to mind control anybody, he'd already have an army.

I would've written this movie so much differently if I had the chance. Like, I would've had Bowser turning the kingdom to stone like the game manual says and that's why Mario is the only one who can save stop him. But I also would have made yoshi the sassy sidekick who takes every opportunity to call Mario some variation of stupid but still hangs around due to an unintentional life debt to Mario.... So there's that ...

That would have been much better. I literally just would have adapted Super Paper Mario, probably fucking around with different styles and forms of animation. If I was forbidden from Super Paper Mario, then I would have kept Peach away from the action, and made her less-human looking. Her talents lay in politicking, that’s why Mario fights. (Also Luigi in distress is a weird choice, I would have him brainwashed or manipulated into working for Bowser)

They really created an intentional cinematic parallel with Mario landing in the mushroom kingdom ruled by Peach (his love interest) and Luigi landing in the dark lands ruled by Bowser (his love interest) and then didn't follow through. Cowards

Honestly, I enjoyed the movie a lot. I was disappointed characters like yoshi and Toadette weren’t there and Luigi didn’t have a bigger role but other then that I found the movie cute. Also after watching this we need Donkey Kong x Mario fanfics now /j

I remember sitting in the theater during the scene where Mario saves Donkey Kong and just thinking “…Enemies to lovers”

I never thought I would ever say “Donkey Kong was my favorite character” but here we are

This movie literally got me to start shipping bowuigi, plus, after my family and I watched the movie, my older sister shipped bowuigi hard....now so do i :)

5:24 when i watched the movie with my friends there was a kid infront of us. He was quiet for most of the movie but in the final fight scene he kept yelling at mario to defeat bowser. It was actually quite funny

Okay but the Mario Movie was so fun? It felt more like it was meant for people who grew up with Mario instead of random people, like it was so fun to watch little kids get so confused about why certain jokes were so funny because it's just. No kid. You don't get it. British 5 year olds have no taste in media omg. Also favourite character and ship? Rosalina easily, and in terms of ships Bowuigi (Most of my art tumblr is Bowuigi and idk how to feel about that.)

MY REVIEW’S IN THE FUCKING THUMBNAIL HOLY SHIT!!

I got so fucking excited when I saw those yoshi cameos I was pointing at the screen trying to get my dad to look, good morning to everyone except for people who don’t like Yoshi

I want bowser jr, the koopalings, wario and waluigi to exist in a sequel. I was devastated at the lack of bowser jr. I was hyped to see him appear once, but he never did. All I got was a Ludwig Von Koopa easter egg on the piano. The koopalings would all have so much personality with their flying clown cars and styles. Ludwig being serious, Lemmy being goofy, Roy being rude (possibly hot bc he looks like he gets all the women), Iggy just mentally insane and annoying, Wendy being sassy and girly, Morton just being a crackhead and Larry being the kind and chill one. Wario and Waluigi must also be added as 2 fame and money hungry people who found their way in the mushroom kingdom and hate mario and luigi. I later want mario, luigi, wario and waluigi to team up in the end of the sequel to defeat (the now freed) bowser and the koopalings. Mario with his bravery, Luigi with his “getting luigi’d” power, Wario using body slams and Waluigi…just beating the living shat out of the enemies with a tennis racket. I also want Wendy to flirt with the mario bros. For some reason.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great movie, Peach was major gorlboss and Mario was a furry sometimes. The best character was the Luma.

I can, in fact, confirm that it's Mah-rioh, because that's how the characters all say it in The Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach.

The fact that this movie got as many negative reviews as it did is WILD to me. I went to see it in theaters three times and I cried EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I grew up with the Mario franchise and this movie was a dream come true. The relationship between the brothers was so sweet, Mario and Peach's friendship (and maybe love later, we'll have to wait and see) was very cute and felt genuine. And Bowser? Well, Bowser was amazing. He was simultaneously a badass and a pathetic incel. Also I loved Toad, he was so funny! Plus the soundtrack was amazing. Anyway sorry for the wall of text, I just really love this movie
