I brought my aged godmother to their concerts every year for the last seven years. This was our favorite piece from their Christmas concert. It’s from an English animated, holiday film called The Snow Man. She is dying now, but present enough through an increasingly dense cloud of haloperidol and morphine to turn her face to the music, her features softening and her grip on my hand tightening. Rest in Peace Marilyn And thank you Chanticleer for the gift of your art.

Just saw them sing this tonight and was gobsmacked so I came here to hear it again. Even better in person.

When my older son was an infant, my sister in law gave us a video of the Snowman for his first Christmas. Walking on the Air instantly captivated my husband, my son, and me. That video was watched year round for many, many years - mainly because my son loved the song and the animations. To find that Chanticleer has recorded an equally beautiful and haunting performance of this song makes me very happy. Off to purchase whatever album has this on it - and a DVD copy of The Snowman.

We're walking in the air We're floating in the moonlit sky The people far below are sleeping as we fly I'm holding very tight I'm riding in the midnight blue I'm finding I can fly so high above with you Far across the world The villages go by like dreams The rivers and the hills The forests and the streams Children gaze open mouth Taken by surprise Nobody down below believes their eyes We're surfing in the air We're swimming in the frozen sky We're drifting over icy mountains floating by Suddenly swooping low on an ocean deep Rousing up a mighty monster from his sleep We're walking in the air We're dancing in the midnight sky And everyone who sees us greets us as we fly

I was once in a remote, cold northern forest at midnight, listening to the snow fall and the soft wind in the snowy pine trees. This performance brings me back to the magic of that night. I've watched this, oh, maybe 30 times...? whenever I want a blast of happiness. Or maybe it's schadenfreude. This song has a special place in my heart and this performance is angelic, especially Logan's - how can you hit such pure, clean high notes?! God bless all of you guys for your haunting voices. You are such a gift to the world.

Isn’t schadenfreude taking pleasure in misfortunes of others? Maybe nostalgia if the song takes you to a special time or place I. Your past? It’s a beautiful, haunting song.

Love the music, but could we have some shots from more than 10" away? I feel almost claustrophobic. To be sure, not many -- but a couple? It took until literally the last frames to get an idea of who was singing.
