Made possible by strict personal quarantines before and during a masked, distanced rehearsal process in a huge space with good air flow. We're grateful every time we get to sing a Joe arrangement.
Chanticleer is a GRAMMY-winning vocal ensemble composed of six countertenors, three tenors, and three basses.

The countertenor is just... beyond brilliant. Of course, the entire group just gives me chills and makes me burst out in tears. Those voices are beyond magnificent and truly moving.
I am not ashamed to say that I was moved to tears by your masterful rendition of one of my favorite hymns. I lived in San Francisco for 30 years and never missed your Christmas concerts at St. Ignatius. The beauty of your voices and the acoustics of the church gave one the impression that a door to heaven had been opened. I pray you will continue to spread joy with your music to the whole world. Take care of yourselves and stay safe. (I appreciate your "social distancing").
My wife was terribly injured in a car accident. She is struggling with mending, I wanted her to hear this!
Wow this song brought tears to my eyes praise Jesus what a wonderful savior we have a loving friend and father the balm for every sin sick soul
Like angels fro heaven (and I´m an atheist)! I keep returning to this chant regularly. Just beautiful.
The choir I sing in was so lucky to have worked and sung with cortez and marques-- their voices are so beautiful! Such a powerful countertenor voice.
Zu und zu wunderschön to hear this after Breakfast made my day oh you men !!! Amen Thank you so very much ❤❤❤

Isn't he!? We're lucky to sing with him.
Love Chanticleer. The first song of theirs I heard was Shenandoah. If you haven't heard it before, do it. Do it now....
Thank you for sharing this beautiful and peaceful rendition of this classic Spiritual. Much needed in this world.
Years ago, I used to sing this in church but had never heard of Cortez, he'd have been quite an inspiration for me to keep going.
So many changed hairstyles since the last time I saw you guys!! Even some good old beards now missing! And I'm pretty sure Cortez does not age...like at all. LOL, the man looks the same as he did a decade ago!
So glad this number from live from San Francisco can be heard again!

Thank you, guys, for this beautiful rendition of this old spiritual, which you have sung with such reverence.
I can hear that song by Chanticleer again and again. I never can hold my tears. And yes, I am in tears now.

This was a favorite solo of my dad's [Dan Hayes, Amherst College 1931] Hearing it brings tears to my eyes as i listen to your rendition.
Saw you gents with Cantus at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis this past Sunday; bravi tutti! I knew I was going to be a mess after "Goin' Home" and "Shenandoah", and indeed I was. Superb.
Beautiful rendition !
I can resist my emotion to hear so beautiful voices! Blessings for you all!!!❤️❤️❤️
This guy's has one of the best voices for this song I've ever heard!

Thank you! And thank you for joining us for Live from London; we loved that opportunity.
This is absolutely beautiful. I could have just reached through my computer monitor and slap the soloist for his vocalizing at the end... Now, of course that would not be possible. But it just reminded me of some of the expressions some of the elders would say when they could not conceive of an adequate expression of their love and admiration for a rendition of a song. Nevertheless, I greatly enjoyed this presentation. Alright, Chaticleer!! Do your thang!!
Remarkably moving
Breathtaking.
probably the most beautiful of all interpretations. hope to see you soon in Germany - Freigericht-Somborn
