    Good Morning Fellow Toolhaulics and Friends: Cp, you did it again with a product that has past the test of time & quality. I still have my first set of Channellock ( water pump pliers ) when I was first getting started, that's 61 years ago 😳. They still work perfectly 🥰 fine to this day. As always CP my best to you & Henry, TMP from N.J.

    Was just using my father in laws. Blue handle USA made rusty as hell. They still work great. My favorite plier for around the house, farm, or in the truck. Was just eying a set for work. Proud of channel lock for keeping it in the USA for a competitive price.

    Man, do I ever love my 460. I have leaned on those suckers in ways Channelock hasn't even thought of, and they keep coming back for more. I don't know what it would take to defeat them. I've been gradually replacing my Mastercrap pliers as they die off, and I'm always excited when it's time to buy new Channelocks!

Not doing much of that anymore , but I can say after 40 years those are still going strong . Everytime my friends ask me which to buy I tell them Channellock, I have other brands like Klein and snap on , but to this day I am always reaching for my channellocks. Thanks for the cool video as always CP.

    Great video! I've owned the ChannelLock 4 piece 'tongue and groove' plier set since the mid 90s (and I bought the big Azz separately afterwards) I love them, and they are used regularly. Also, I've NEVER had to do a warranty claim on any of them. Many other techs in the shop like the "big azz" pliers, as it gets borrowed on a regular basis as well. Lol. They might not be as good as a Snap-on / Knipex set, but for the value it can't be beat. (My set is 25+years old)

    Yeah Channellock has some program at Penn Tech in Williamsport, PA. My brother went there for welding and he beat the living piss out of his 420's and they work as good as new. I have a handful of Channellock pliers I use for work and home and I've liked them all. My boss has a big ass adjustable wrench branded Channellock, made in Spain by Irega I think, and it's probably the best adjustable I've ever used. But yeah, Channellock is based.

    I run Channellock pliers in my tool bag! They never let me down. I, too, use knipex cobra pliers in conjunction with the Channellock pliers. Their diagonal cutters and linesman pliers cut just as good as the big dogs. If you have a Do-It Best hardware store, Channellock does offer other hand tools. They have wrench sets, socket sets, screwdrivers, etc. Their wrenches are identical to Carlyle. Their socket sets and ratchets are mediocre. In my opinion, their quality is on par with Dewalt or Craftsman. Channellock brand wrenches, ratchets, and socket sets are Taiwanese made. Their adjustable wrenches are Spanish made. Their Screwdrivers and picks are USA made.

    I'm a major Channellock fanboy and probably have about 30 pairs of their pliers and cutters currentlyv, I also have an original pair of pre patent Champion De'arment #420 from 1933 that belonged to my grandfather. Very likely from one of their earliest batches of Channellock pliers. They have quite a large lineup of pliers, some of their needle nose pliers can be a bit rough / inconsistent at times though.

  • @AToolWithTools

    @AToolWithTools

    Жыл бұрын

    For copyright? You can't copyright a tool, you copyright artistic works. I think you're thinking of trademarks. Which they're not copying the names because they use their own branding on everything, and they aren't copying designs that are still patented nor featuring any trademarked characteristics. Everyone copies everyone to an extent. Everyone blows their wad about Cobras but Knipex makes tongue and groove pliers. Guess who invented them? Right here, these guys, Channellock, back when they were known as DeArment. Channellock makes linesman pliers, Klein invented those. Klein now makes button-adjustment parallel jaw pliers of the exact same fashion that Knipex invented with Cobras (button) and PliersWrench (jaw operation principle). It's all circular, and if it's no longer under patent protection that means the inventor had their 20 years to milk it. The patent on tongue and groove pliers expired decades ago. Button adjusts expired a few years ago. If there was a patent on double-dipping pliers handles, that's gone because I've been getting Swanstroms with the same cushion grip for a long time.
