I wish all that company sue harbor freight for copyright. The other day I went to harbor freight to check their pliers and found out they basically copy Snap-on 100 percent with poorer quality.
@AToolWithTools
Жыл бұрын
For copyright? You can't copyright a tool, you copyright artistic works. I think you're thinking of trademarks. Which they're not copying the names because they use their own branding on everything, and they aren't copying designs that are still patented nor featuring any trademarked characteristics. Everyone copies everyone to an extent. Everyone blows their wad about Cobras but Knipex makes tongue and groove pliers. Guess who invented them? Right here, these guys, Channellock, back when they were known as DeArment. Channellock makes linesman pliers, Klein invented those. Klein now makes button-adjustment parallel jaw pliers of the exact same fashion that Knipex invented with Cobras (button) and PliersWrench (jaw operation principle). It's all circular, and if it's no longer under patent protection that means the inventor had their 20 years to milk it. The patent on tongue and groove pliers expired decades ago. Button adjusts expired a few years ago. If there was a patent on double-dipping pliers handles, that's gone because I've been getting Swanstroms with the same cushion grip for a long time.

I've had channel lock brand but for some reason I find the Klein Tools brand pliers to be a cut above.
I have channel locks and knipex the only thing good about knipex is the weakest link channel locks don't break and the greatest thing about them over Doyle is they only few dollars more it's like getting a VW for $5 more than a Yugo tire a big difference in quality like to see the bear chew on that
We were just talking about these ,i haven't bought mine yet ,and I'm still looking for the biggest one they make 😂

Every channellock I see has that mark on the lower jaw. What is that? Why aren't they correcting it? My olllld sets don't have it.

Believe it or not once upon a time you could get actual Channel Lock pliers in HFT. I would never buy HF house brand Channellocks.

I wish all that company sue harbor freight for copyright. The other day I went to harbor freight to check their pliers and found out they basically copy Snap-on 100 percent with poorer quality.

Those are knock-off Channelocks, come from the same guy who makes the fake Rolex’s you get on the street corner. I have the real ones, the difference is obvious and way more than $75
