    @@purgasound you inspired me to move up from building pedals, to working on amps. And I hope soon (1-2 years) I'm going to start building amps. I know how hard KZread can be. Trust me I have some videos that have like 50 views that I felt were great topics, then other videos that I just slapped together have a thousand. Its a weird platform. But can't wait for more videos!!!

    Your an awesome player and even better tech. What mods can i do to my orange cr120 head to make it have tighter and more gain...without using a boost or overdrive pedal...

    It's a solid state amplifier. Any modifications you do to it to tighten it up and going to require far more effort and energy than just slapping a tube screamer in front of it

    I'm not sure on that one. I'm not familiar with those. I think it's a couple of TL072 opamps in the preamp. Cutting bass early in the circuit helps tighten things up. I'm not sure how to go about that in that amp. Adding more gain will usually mean more upper end harmonics that need to get cut out to prevent oscillation. Not as familiar on how to do this with this type of circuit without seeing a schematic.

    hey! can you make dimebag related videos like playing a pantera song with a dimarzio x2n and why you dont like the Bill Lawrence pickup ?

  • @purgasound

    @purgasound

    2 жыл бұрын

    I have always felt like the Bill Lawrence pickups were really shrill and too trebly for my taste. Dimebag was an amazing player and he could get great tones from those pickups. I cannot unfortunately! I saw Fast Eddie Clarke rock an X2N in a Fender Strat and was hooked ever since. I originally put the X2N in my Dean from Hell copy to keep with the aesthetic of the bladed humbucker. I wanted to keep the look but I couldn't jive with the BL500XL (if that's the correct model # i'm not sure)
