Was it the 128k +2? If so I had that one too, although I had the little black 48k with the rubber keys first. I've still got both somewhere...

Also, your timing is impeccably aligned ghehe, I just started Ultima VII. I remember quitting because of the combat but I'm deeply impressed yet again by all the little details such as people having their own lives, closing the shutters in the evening etc. Imagine a parallel timeline where that kind of depth would have evolved and been around in modern games. That's why we have passionate crazy people in the indie scene. There's so many insane projects I haven't even heard about.

@@bloyamind I'm gonna play the Ultima games one day. I'll probably skip Ultima I, I've played it before and it's kinda silly, but Richard Garriot really went from strength to strength with that series and Ultima IV particularly is considered one of the best games of all time for a reason.

@@bloyamind And yes, I completely agree. We're entering an unusual time in gaming, where AAA titles are gonna fail and big companies will go under or drastically downsize, while smaller indy developers will thrive. I can't wait!

@@battlemode I was super surprised when I found out trad. roguelikes feel 'modern' as compared to some old-school RPG's like Ultima. Do you have any tips on old RPG's that have a similar system to say ADOM where it's extremely easy to get into, nigh impossible to master? It comes across to me as if that's a side branch of DnD style systems roguelikes took, where-as CRPG's went into a very different direction. As i'm typing i'm realizing I might be describing the games you just showed in the vid. Doh.

@@bloyamindI always think about that ideal parallel timeline where the mainstream would linearly evolve from great PC games of the past instead of being dumbed down to profit with the common denominator.
