Changing the Transmission Fluid | Sportsman 450

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today we change the Transmission Fluid on my 2007 Sportsman 450! I show you guys how i've done it and if you know of any better way let me know. It can be a pain to change because you have to have some sort of flexible tube to pump the fluid through to get to the fill hole. Unless you have something better let me know how you guys have changed yours!
For the fluid i'm just using regular conventional oil for my tranny change. I've seen a bunch of post about using it so i figured I might as well as many others have used it and not had any issues. Let me know what you guys use for your fluids!
Thanks for watching!

I don't believe in paying the price for Polaris Labeled oils / Fluids as well. The polaris oils / fluids are a medium quality product at best but the prices are insanely high. Nothing wrong with the quality of the polaris labeled stuff, but they really stick it to you. Motor oil is fine to use in the transmission on various polaris atvs / utv's. A step better product would be a good synthetic chaincase oil in the transmission, which is the same type product the polaris labeled bottle is. For the Front diffs on many 4x4 models you can use Tractor Fluid from many manufacturers or it can also be called UTF fluid. You can use any "Tractor Fluid" that meets J20D or J20C will work great for the front diff. The cheap Tractor Supply Traveler UTF is fine, STP MultiTrac Tractor Fluid, Coastal Multitrac Tractor Fluid, O'reilly Tractor Fluid, John Deere Hy-guard / Transmission FLuid, etc. For the engine oil you can literally use anything else you want with the proper weight, A quality oil like Shell, Mobile 1, etc is a much better quality oil than the polaris labeled and you can get 5 quarts to a gallon for the same price or cheaper than just 2 quarts from Polaris.. For my polaris 500 ho 2013 I use Tractor Fluid in the front diff, Shell Rotella t6 in the engine, synthetic chaincase oil in transmission. If you want the best front diff fluid you can buy the John Deere products are probably some of the best you can get. 1qt of the john deere fluid is $7 Locally if you can find it or you can order it online for $7 + shipping. You get a better product for 1/3 of the price.. Some people are using all mobile 1 oils / fluids for the whole atv / utv and you still end up saving 1/3rd of the price compared to polaris labeled stuff. My point is do research and you can save money if you want. Many people just go on amazon or to local dealers and buy the polaris kit because its easy and not confusing which I understand. If you do a little research you can save a lot of money though. You can buy a 2 - 5 gallon tractor fluid container for the front diff and it will last you a lifetime just about from $40 for the 2 gallon jug to $80 for a 5 gallon bucket lol.
