If you don't want to pinch your fingers putting the belt back on, try removing 1 end of the tensioner spring. When your belt is where it belongs, put the spring back on. It helps if you have a spring removal/installation tool for automotive drum brakes. T-style works great for me.

'Who are you talking to?'ha ha ha, I have one of those too! Great info, just got a used 46 with 44 hours and want to run a full set of service and new blades. Appreciate the video but curious why you choose not to properly torque the bolts?

Why take the time to remove the deck and change the blades but not take a minute and clean the underside of the deck? I have the 42" version and the torque spec for the blade nuts is 70-90 lb/ft. Nice video though. Thanks.

I agree Alex, at least he could have cleaned out the bottom of the deck while he had it off. I too have a 42 inch model and my spec sheet for the blades says torque between 85 and 95 ft/lb. I split the difference and torque them to 90 ft/lbs.

I know this is an old video but just a hint. Never tighten that second blade like you did, if that wood ever moved you could say good by to your knuckles. I know that's not the sharp side of the blade but I'm thinking it sure would hurt.

At 12:30 then again 12:50 my 📈 heart rate went sky high. I thought the wooden block would snap loose and your hand being on the way of the blade. More careful my friend. .

Great video! I think you forgot about the blade orientation which needs to be set before you put the belt back on the main pulley. You'll find it casts the clippings much better if the two blades are offset from each other as the manufacturer recommends. Also I don't think your bent blades were the problem as much as that string wrapped around the spindle of one of the blades which can slow that one blade down and give you the inconsistent results that you noticed in your cut. Thanks for sharing this!

Why remove the deck at all if you are only changing the blades?

If you plan to make anymore videos, remember never place anything between the camera and your main objective. You know...like an arm or something else. Just saying............
