Props to the producer for the current affair style B-roll during "what happened with oil-gate". Had a good giggle.

“Lets put it back in the drain hole.” Said with the perfect amount of confidence.
Just something I learned from online forums. You can disable the active exhaust valve by removing a fuse in the engine bay. But make sure the car is in N mode so that the flap stays open after you remove the fuse. Next is removing a fuse to disable the fake engine noise the car makes. It is located on driver side fuse box. If you dont have heated seats, which NZ spec i20n dont have, then it is safe to remove. So far, I’m enjoying my i20N 😃
@KaaNunL

Why would you do that ? It is going to be open anyway in N mod no? I am not sure what is the outcome for this action 🤔

It's always refreshing to see a new car getting a diy maintenance interval done. I trust a diy job more than it getting done on dealership. But that's just me.
@chasing cars as an independent mechanic down in Melbourne with 12 years under my belt as long as you get the viscosity correct such as 0W 20. Then the difference between GF5 & GF6 is not going to hurt anything in such a short period of time between changes. If you did this over many 10s of thousands of Kms then it might wear slightly faster than normal. Also I would appreciate it if you could advise in future videos you can go to an independent mechanic to get your vehicle serviced not just dealership.

@@user-vk4vd7vr5t yes you are correct however it would take a significant amount of driving to notice any extra wear & tear. Also if you follow the instruction manual you should be ok.

@@user-vk4vd7vr5t I understand what you are saying. However if it is only a short interval between changes then it will be ok. I’m not in any way suggesting that you should go ahead & do this. I’m simply pointing out that if you do get if wrong and swap it out quickly then it won’t cause to much damage.
Are you still on the original Pirelli PZeros? If not what tyres are on the car now?
It's ok about the oil.. As quite a few Hyundai dealers have been putting in the incorrect oil in N cars. Most dealers just buy 1 spec of oil & put it in all cars that come in for service.
Got my i20N serviced just yesterday at my local Hyundai dealership. When I asked what oil they put in they said 0w30. When I told them this is different than what is recommended in the owners manual, they said their computer systems says it's OK as long as it is API SN PLUS/SP or ILSAC GF-6. It seems they do not have 0W20 on hand at most Hyundai service centres. Next time I will bring in my own oil.

Hi … I need some help finding the right oil for Hyundai i20 premium hybrid petrol?
Hello, do you know what is the dimensions of the drain plug? Thanks!
It’s amazing theses days oil for DPF only
At 1:37, the Hyundai manual says API SN PLUS /SP OR Ilsac GF6. An SP Plus oil is an GF5 oil. Meaning it should be OK!

Well the top ex Toyota specialist on youtube [now that he does not work for Toyota] said that the dealerships buy the cheapest oil that they can get in bulk.
Part number for oil filter for 2023 i20n has changed style. Now 263502M100. App changed mid 2022. Completely different style of filter and 3x the price.
In the first oil change clip you said you would send a sample to be lab checked, did you do this and if so what was the result? Thanks

Hey Joe - we sure did. Here is the result: • Fuel percentage was a little high • Has dropped in cSt value from 20 to 2 points away from becoming 16 • Depending on driving style may recommend 5000km oil drain

@@elmin2323 clean oil is better than dirty oil. Having driven various car brands with Aisian transmissions mostly, I have found 30,000km to 35,000km a good distance to change transmission oil and keep it from getting ‘dirty’.
