Just something I learned from online forums. You can disable the active exhaust valve by removing a fuse in the engine bay. But make sure the car is in N mode so that the flap stays open after you remove the fuse. Next is removing a fuse to disable the fake engine noise the car makes. It is located on driver side fuse box. If you dont have heated seats, which NZ spec i20n dont have, then it is safe to remove. So far, I’m enjoying my i20N 😃

It's always refreshing to see a new car getting a diy maintenance interval done. I trust a diy job more than it getting done on dealership. But that's just me.

@chasing cars as an independent mechanic down in Melbourne with 12 years under my belt as long as you get the viscosity correct such as 0W 20. Then the difference between GF5 & GF6 is not going to hurt anything in such a short period of time between changes. If you did this over many 10s of thousands of Kms then it might wear slightly faster than normal. Also I would appreciate it if you could advise in future videos you can go to an independent mechanic to get your vehicle serviced not just dealership.

@@user-vk4vd7vr5t I understand what you are saying. However if it is only a short interval between changes then it will be ok. I’m not in any way suggesting that you should go ahead & do this. I’m simply pointing out that if you do get if wrong and swap it out quickly then it won’t cause to much damage.

It's ok about the oil.. As quite a few Hyundai dealers have been putting in the incorrect oil in N cars. Most dealers just buy 1 spec of oil & put it in all cars that come in for service.

Got my i20N serviced just yesterday at my local Hyundai dealership. When I asked what oil they put in they said 0w30. When I told them this is different than what is recommended in the owners manual, they said their computer systems says it's OK as long as it is API SN PLUS/SP or ILSAC GF-6. It seems they do not have 0W20 on hand at most Hyundai service centres. Next time I will bring in my own oil.
