Take a pair of vice grips and pinch off the gas line so you don’t have to drain your gas tank.

Those fuel valves are extremely fragile. I broke one just trying to get the hoses on it

Friendly advice never drain gas into a milk jug or and thin plastic jug, they have a lining on the inside that the gas dissolves
