Change your Paccar CCV Filter!!!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Basic rundown of a Crank Case Ventilation module Filter change. Performed on an EPA21 Paccar MX-13. The process is similar to all other models as well.
Make sure you have a SERVICEABLE CCV filter as they are not all the same.
Thanks for watching!

This video was a life savor. Do everything he says, just how he says it. Itll take some wiggling to get it to drop out.the bottom
Thank you very much

I do appreciate the videos you put out on the mx . I still believe this is a good engine. Even though there's a lot of negativity. Please share new mx12 2023 if available.

Good luck getting one my truck was down at Rush Peterbilt for 3 months last winter, because it was on national back order 😢😢😢 and finally, they got one for it, and was just told by them they are still hard to get

I learned all this the hard way. Still PITA.
How often are these filter changed on this engine?

How often do you have to change the ccv filter
This has to be a satire video. This is a pain in the ass job, and if you break the intake tube or harness connector it's a big pain.
@CC-vr8wn

I agree, I have found that if you remove the alternator and alternator bracket attached to the block it is 100 times easier-to gain access to the upper left hand bolt in the ccv module. And you are correct about the tubes, they are plastic pieces of crap and can crack/break easily so be careful!!
I had to remove the ECM to get the filter out the top because the lower ecm harness would NOT move enough to get it out no matter what I unbolted or zip tie I clipped.
@mikepons2628

Loosen the harness up and use zip ties to secure to the drag link as tightly as possible and out of your way, I do this job in an hour

I recently pulled my ccv unit and to my surprise, it had a filter that could not be changed. I had to buy a brand new housing from the dealer. Luckily they had one on hand.

about every 150k or so. Varies by application. It'll throw codes if you don't change it out.

@@Dartmech Could SPN 5396 FMI 1 “engine crankcase filter hose disconnected” be one of those codes? I checked and everything is in fact hooked up just fine. 575k on the truck I just got, not sure if it’s ever been changed. Thanks

Got my truck at 431,000 and now it's at 650,000 never noticed if it had one.
Is there anyway the CCV module could be damaged if the filter is bad? My dealer claimed my module was crumbling. They charged me $1200 for the part.

IF its a non-serviceable filter then maybe.. But I don't know, I'd have to inspect it. Hopefully they're giving you the true story.
Where do you get your Paccar training? Please keep the videos coming. Where did you get the paccar model?
I’m getting SPN 5396 FMI 1 code. Description says “engine crankcase hose disconnected.” Could this be a dirty filter and need a change?

Possibly. Wouldn’t hurt to check all hoses and make sure everything looks good before tearing into this project. What year and what engine do you have?

Yeah I know idiots engineers they designing the engine out of frame they don’t think that the engine is going to be in the frame being an ass to take it off. The filter is 100 bucks to replace is 2500 bucks. Only one problem when I replaced mine the filter it was like brand new don’t make sense

You should have one wheel speed sensor per wheel. Usually located on the top. Try pushing them all in and see if any are loose, then go drive around and see if the light goes out. Some times that helps.
Well i dont care for the democrats and their so call 0 emissions crap so im just going to have the tube like good old Cats, N14 , Series 60..... great video keep it up bro , and Paccar mx13 r great engines.
Smh can I just get a C-15 Cat make trucking great again
🤦🏻♂
No need to take the ecm connector loose, thats just added unnecessary steps. Use a wobble to get the top front bolt and a wrench to get the top back bolt.
Why do they have to make something so hard in these that's why I hate these motors nothing's easy about them and they cost so much they need them shoved up they're behind they could make of things a lot easier but they're not going to but in the long run they're going to put themselves out of business they just don't know it but it will happen in time mark my words people just don't have the money to keep spending on this piles of something's got give let's just see how long it takes
