This is the only perfume I have ever loved. I am 75. Because of allergies, I could not wear anything for decades, but I discovered due to health changes, that I could tolerate the pure parfum. I am now searching for a vintage bottle. I have a tiny sample of the eau. Heavenly. You could not be more right. This perfume is a hidden jewel in Chanel's empire. Thank you for this video. A sublime scent. Your description of breezes and grass by the ocean intrigues me. My most favorite place is the ocean edge. But I don't get that so much from 19, I get the green with the hint of floral. 19 fits my personality: shy but strong underneath; assertive when it is needed. A romantic, thinking woman's scent. And because of all this it is sophisticated beyond belief. It is pretty astounding that a perfume could say all that. I will forever think of no. 5 as misdirection for the masses. As I understand it, the original scent needed a key ingredient from Iran. After the revolution, the source went away. This is why the current version is different.

It used to be made with galbanum from Lebanon and Iran.

the way you describe scents is so brilliant and descriptive and i get it, love when you go on a tangent, no other perfume reveiwer on yooutube comes anywhere close to how you describe what is basically an abstract art form. You really should be working for Chanel in their production of new scents. I got a sample today of 19 edt and instantly become obsessed, first time ever smelling it. As a male i feel like i've been searching this all my life for something that smells like this. I will try and get some vintage 19. Thanks for the brilliant reviews, your passion is infectious.

Thank you! Newly subscribed! When I need to smell fresh and strong and more "me;" this is what I put on. I only have EDT from just two years ago. Looking forward to getting the vintage perfume and reformulated perfume eventually. It is a strong, green and powerful pick me up. Whenever I feel gross or just bleh, I put just a small amount of this on and I'm like a new person.

I was at the Chanel counter in the Liverpool store in Mérida, Mexico. The woman behind the counter reluctantly sprayed some Chanel No 19 EDP on a strip for me. I took it home and kept going back to it all night. The next day I returned and bought it from a different snooty clerk. I’ve been wearing this almost daily since. The freshness and greenness start my day in such a wonderful way. I stopped at the Guerlain counter looking for Mitsouko. They didn’t have it, but the nice young man there showed me Insolence and gave me a sample. Wow! I wear it at home, but it’s a bit much in public. I recently ordered Mitsouko online. It was like an acid trip! There was a flashback the next morning after I showered. I recently ordered Joy by Jean Patou and while waiting for it, ran into your KZread channel. Your posts are like university lectures. I read somewhere that Mick Jagger used Joy as a deodorant. After all the wildness with some scents, it’s so nice to relax back into Chanel No 19.

Actually it was Keith Richards. He woke up and couldn't find anything else to use but his wife/girlfriends Joy! And I can totally see that being such a power move, a man like Keith can smell however he wants! Sweat, cigarettes, $400 parfume, sea spray,...idk...🥰🚬🌺

No19 has always been one of my favourites I adore it and have used it for 30 years!👍🙂❤

I'm curious how you might compare it to Cacharel Eden -- Chanel #19 as the antithesis of the 70s Plastico and Eden as the thesis of the of the 70s Plastico?

Hello sweetheart. Thank you for another poetic vision of a scent out of this world. In life I strongly believe that there are no coincidences... I've been thinking of getting Chanel N°19 for some time. In the middle of this month it will be my son's marriage and as a perfume lover I've been thinking what will I wear. N° 19 came immediately to my mind. It's funny because I don't have it currently in my collection and it's probably my favorite perfume. I love chyprees and this one is and always have been "The One". I only know the Eau de Parfum and it might be the chosen one. I'll then let you know 😊 big hug

Speaking from experience. N•19 is love at second sight. I abhor this fragrance the first time I smelled it. I thought, the color of the liquid is greenish so this must be fresh and citrusy much to my dismay it smelled like it came from another planet, weird and unappealing. That was maybe 5 years ago. Well, my taste changes so are my choices in perfumes, last year I decided to give it another try, let's see if my perception of this perfumes changes. It did. The smell of woods haunt me throught that whole day and for weeks to come, its hypnotizing. Addicting. It pulls you from where you stood and takes you to the lush and damp forest. I got a vintage parfum and I got myself a balancing force against N•5s grandoise. N•19 is a special perfume, a work of art created by Henri Robert then, master perfumer to Chanel, can be credited also as a safekeeper of Les Parfums Chanel's greatest and most-kept treasures. N•19 is a cold and unforgiving fragrance that has the ability to tame even the wildest of things. A great companion to get through a disappointment this world can exact.

Just to let you know there IS a 56ml (M.M. (Moyene Modèle)) extrait bottle... I've seen a couple on the second hand market (kidney prices) but my Chanel rep (much older than me) confirmed its previous existence! I don't think they ever made the 112ml (G.M.) Version, or at least I've never seen or heard of it but you mentioned the 28ml / 1oz extrait being the biggest but just know there's a 56ml... And I WANT IT!!! Haha

When you originally posted this on your other channel I happened upon an eBay store based out of Hong Kong (maybe many of us did) they had hundreds, if not thousands of bottles of vintage Chanel in all formulations, it was fishy as all get out, but every single one I bought from them was legit and arrived less than a week after purchase. I think I got my 7ml N19 unopened for $17 shipped or so 😳

Please get your bottle while you still can - according to my SA and what I have read, this perfume will only be sold in boutiques in France. I just purchased one of two bottles that arrived for replenishment in the (fashion) boutique nearest me. On line- it is not available.

19 good, but 22 my fave. 5 smells like bug spray on me!

This fragrance is transgressive.
