I just picked this up yesterday and I find it quite pleasant. I agree with you that this is not a gourmand fragrance and it’s much more fresh than I expected. I have to wonder about all the reviews I have watched where reviewers have called it gourmand and groundbreaking. Like I said I’m enjoying it and don’t regret it but do feel it’s overhyped and misled by so many reviewers so thank you for your honesty in this review.

I watched this review after I ordered mine from Chanel and was a lil skeptical about my purchase after watching it and reading some of the comments…to each their own I suppose because my batch is FIRE. You smell lemon, then vanilla right after, it definitely isn’t lemon meringue, or any other food, just a chemical romance of alluring sensuality…creamy dreamy feels boi boi…i’m sooo glad I bought the 5oz bottle! In my opinion Chanel outdid themselves with this one…as a habit I never purchase from discount marts, not saying anyone else here did, but as I mentioned my bottle is the killer diller 🚫🧢

I just subscribed and appreciate your take on fragrances. Agreed that Allure Homme Edition Blanche does NOT smell like lemon meringue pie lol and not nearly sweet enough to be labeled a gourmand. I get more of a fizzy lemon iced tea powder meets vetiver sandalwood musk barbershop vibe. I love mine which is the EDT before they "reformulated" it...

I finished my bottle long ago, and not in a hurry to repurchase. You hit the nail on the head - it should be priced comparable to other designers at discounters. I have Xerjoff Uden and it 's in the same vein perhaps not as effervescent/ lemon heavy as E.B. Love the placebo affect analogy at the end btw. Great review!

Great review! I own Guerlain L’Homme Ideal Cologne, and I thoroughly enjoy that citrus aromatic vibe mixed with that semi sweet undertone, so Edition Blanche was on my shortlist. Maybe I’ll try Lolita Lempicka Green Lover instead.

Love L'Homme Ideal Cologne. I still have 2 50ml bottles which I haven't opened yet - not sure if I ever want to considering it's already discontinued. 😞

The EDT C is creamier and heavier in vanilla. EDP has brighter lemon, more fresh and instead of vanilla it gives a sugar vibe- huge difference.

I agree with this 100% I just got mine in, and it smells amazing! It's definitely not a lemon pie, I don't get how people get that it does not have the sweetness a pie would have. Now longevity is pretty poor first day, but I knew that going into this by seeing all the reviews. So I knew buying this I was 1 buying it for the name and 2 the scent not the longevity or projection. But all in all happy it's in the collection. Was more of a buy for myself cause I just wanted to experience it. Plus have a bad habit of collecting frags :/

What cheaper clone or alternative can you recommend to this Chanel or what do you think comes closest for someone on a low budget.

I think you’re comparing it to the taste and not the smell of lemon meringue pie.

MY GOD FINALLY! You described my thought of this fragrance perfectly, I never got lemon meringue pie from Edition Blanche ever. It's a nice scent overall, but Chanel really need to amp up the vanilla sweetness a bit if they want to present the "meringue pie" aspect of it. But hey FragranceDoc, if I wanted something lemony similar but with a little bit more vanilla sweetness what would you recommend? Can Hanae Mori HM be worn in the summer? Thanks

The best way to determine if you feel comfortable wearing a particular fragrance in a particular season is to imagine what outfit you would wear with it…to me, scents can smell like a look with some imagination👍🏽

When I first smelled this it was very lemon pie like very very nice. But that was years ago. Maybe they changed the scent.

I thoroughly enjoyed this in-depth review. I get tired of reviewers describing it as a “lemon meringue pie” scent cause I don’t have a good idea of what the heck that even smells like. My mind immediately goes to key lime pie and I don’t find smelling like that appealing at all 😂

yeah, i love the psychology/placebo effect (i always think about it when i expect something from a blind buy) ... and then it comes (a disappointment :D)

I have CAHEB and Creed's Sublime Vanille. To my nose they are very similar. I have Lelabo Bergamot 22 as well and prefer that one over all of them. Compliments would go to Sublime Vanille though 🤷🏾‍♂️

It’s actually $157 right now I just checked it on Chanel’s website.

Agreed- I ordered the EDP after having the EDT C - I'm shocked how different they smell!!! EDT C far more creamy unique and dreamy.

absolutely agree with Creed Himalaya as a better, more interesting smell ... i have Allure Edition Blanche and it bored me after 2 wearing ... too sharp lemon in the intro ..... yeah, it projects a lot but it´s not a round, soft , uplifting lemon, it´s an aggressive syntetic lemon .... i like Allure Homme Sport the best (fresh yet has that vanilla creaminess and it has much more rounder smell)

Its still very pleasant, but Neroli Portofino is way too pricy an alternative plus doesn't last and silver mountain is even stupider pricing and is even further away from this scent dna

I disagree. Its only “very fresh” upon first spray, for a minute or so. It becomes really dense, really thick, sweet and “lemon cheescake”y within 30? minutes or so. In fact i wish it was less thick. I have to disagree because i order lemon desserts a lot, and when i first sprayed this one without any prior priming or knowledge, first thing i thought of was Espresso Lab’s lemon cheesecake.

In Germany I can get 100ml for 85€, which makes it a much better deal.

100ml is Not very expensive in. Europe :) I guess Some countries have very high import taxes?

French perfumery is not about beast mode... it is all about style mode... simple but also daring ;))

I'm not a fan of Dior Cologne either cause it doesn't last. Too many reviewers over hype it as well. Jimmy Choo Ice for the $ is better

Agree I could never hype that one that it’s too fleeting but compared to edition Blanche I think it accomplishes the job a bit better. More actual use for it.

@@8mcneely on the designer side, have you tried Chanel platinum egoiste, Tom Ford Beau de Jour, Dolce Gabbana Pour Homme? On the niche side I might suggest Creed Viking, Creed Royal Oud, or if you want to smell more fresh and aquatic, Parfums de Marly Sedley. Oh another good signature designer would be Acqua di Gio, and I actually do like Profondo, esp if you live in a hotter climate

I found this video because I guess I fell for the hype. It smells nothing like a lemon pie. it's nice, but the longevity is nonexistent and smells very confused.

Lol I love that this doesn’t work on people skin. More for me. Elegance, class, and citrus. Chanel is not for the cheap hearted. People truly don’t understand this fragrance. Its a bomb on me and lasts 8hours. It’s perfect
