------------
In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

Ever since I looked into lockpicking as a hobby (I am not very good at it, mind you) I've come to the conculsion that you really don't need any skills other than brute force for most locks anyway. People see a code lock and think "Oh my, I can't open this, I don't have the code!" when all you really need is a bolt cutter. Or strong arms/feet.
The mask task just gives off that vibe of, "This isn't inherently sexual, but it's definitely somebody's fetish."

Everything Bob Mortimer said while his mask was being eaten! I have not laughed that hard in a really long time, thank you.
I love how when Noel decided to smash the briefcase, he shows up in the next scene with safety goggles. This suggests either one of two things. Either Noel decided to go all punk on the briefcase, but also thought, "Well, I better still be safe about this." Or the crew saw that Noel was about to wreck something again and thought, "Oh, jesus. What will the HSE(like OSHA) think?" For some reason, the untold story of the safety goggles tantalizes me.
@nowandaround312

I'd be willing to bet a decent amount of money that Noel didn't request the safety goggles. The crew or possibly a dedicated safety officer/adviser will intervene when a contestant is about to do something potentially dangerous e.g. preventing Hugh from climbing too high and giving Sally cut resistant gloves after Aisling sliced open her fingers trying to slice bread with the top of an opened can.
@DueySR
Жыл бұрын
This is common throughout the show. If a contestant decides to choose a dangerous method they're given protective equipment and they probably have to wear it. Goggles when smashing things, respirators when burning toxic things, gloves, safety mats for jumping, etc. all appear and I assume they pause the clock off-camera while they prepare for what the contestant wants to do.

I like to imagine Alex with a walkie talkie once Noel leaves the room: "*kkksh* He's gonna smash the case, over! *kkksh*" and production scrambles for a pair of goggles to hand Noel as he barrels out the door.

I love it when all 5 contestants have completely different ways of going about a task.
I didn’t know that the Champion of Champions series would only be two episodes! Would have really loved to see this cast go through a full 10-part series. I get that contracts are a thing, but this idea of getting Taskmaster alumni to return is gold! Thanks for putting these up - I discovered them during the pandemic and it’s by far my favorite show now. Big love from Canada.

Bob Mortimer just might be my favorite human on this planet. That bit about the mess, when he was pulling out tissues at rapid-fore speed gave me a laughter tear. Taskmaster simply MUST have him back on again. Two episodes wasn't enough for him or this cast as a whole.
There is something truly satisfying about Bob just standing there, wiggling his arms, while the rest is just going mad.

I was very sleep deprived when I watched this and it completely broke me. I have witnessed true madness and it made me a crying laughing mess
The "what's in the case" task is probably my favourite task ever because it was so well designed that every person could go with their strength and finish it without making a complete dog's breakfast out of it. I like that a whole lot. I realize it would be hard to design all tasks like this, but more please, if you can.
You know who's gonna win when Greg says "Jesus Christ" repeatedly after watching a task
“I thought if it was an anteater I gotta get that guy out of there.”
Funny how her family is on the exact same page and knew right away she was joking. Also scary how she would straight up ruin her family to complete a task.
OMG. Alex eating the masks was possibly the most disturbing and hilarious task in the history of the show. Amazing.
As an American I can't thank you enough for posting these. I am seeing all of these for the first time and Thursday after work never disappoints. Thanks again!
My gift to Alex: "Greg Davies" is an anagram of "reviseD Gag"
I just think its hilarious how even tho they have all won the show they are still vastly different in their approach which just shows how this show doesnt really have a formula or anything that certain people just fit into
That suitcase challenge showcased several of the contestants reaching nirvana, a perfect wavelength of tasking, where they were one with the eternal task: discovering frozen peas.

@@rosepetal2448 Have you ever heard a Newfie accent? It's incredibly similar to how people from Cork sound. That's not surprising because a lot of the people that settled in Newfoundland and Labrador were from Cork and other parts of Ireland. Some of the accents there are so strong, and the slang so different from the rest of English-speaking Canada, that on a Canadian documentary I watched, they had to use English subtitles for a man from Newfoundland even though he was speaking English... lol.
