Challenging my TREE MONITORS | WHACK-A-ROACH, SPIN THE BOTTLE + more!

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Watch as I create and test challenges for my Blue Tree Monitors to solve! Providing challenges like these for my reptiles stimulates the animals to exhibit a number of interesting behaviors. Animal enrichment is an important element to the ethical and successful keeping of animals in captivity. I encourage all animal keepers to implement enrichment strategies appropriate to the species they are keeping.

    Great point!Never leave pets unattended with hanging string! It's extremely dangerous and a minute is all it takes for them to be gone. You should be interacting with your pets, they are sentient and will associate the fun with you being present too!

    This is nothing short of fantastic and I will totally use these for future trees. Monitors especially being so smart really need this. I didn't know how they used their long limbs to reach in for food! Animals are just always teaching us, man!

    Not sure the “whack a roach” is a good idea. If allowed to go at it long enough the monitor might end up with sore face from sticking its snout into those holes. I suppose its not being left in there long enough to become a problem? Itsa beauty of a tree monitor and the enclosure looks awesome

  • @ScrolledAgain

    @ScrolledAgain

    2 жыл бұрын

    That's a valid concern, but I think how they naturally interact in the wild they would be doing these behaviors chasing insects and they clearly have adaptations towards it like their limbs, so I think they're a bit better.

  • @happybee7725

    @@ScrolledAgain the only reason i thought of it is because i bought a front sliding glass vivarium that have a wee small circular hole in the glass. It was way to small for the snake to escape through so i didnt think anything of it then a few times I brought the snake out i noticed it had these marks around the snout. It looked like it was on the verge of breaking the skin but i couldnt work out what it was then it dawned on me. The snake had been pushing its snout through hole in the glass and it was pushing the glass really hard and it was causing this sore ring around the snout. A wee bit o plastic tape over the holes on both sides solved it immediately.
