All I can say is that this song is just one of my many favorites by Chaka Khan. I sit here and listen to this excellent musicianship, while looking at this fine picture and listening to Chaka's magnificiant voice and I realize that this is what the term FUNK really means. This true vintage Chaka at her absolute best, and the band - there are no words to describe your musical greatness! Can't NOBODY touch Chaka Khan and thats my opinion!

Wait, this was recorded in the 90s? I guess I was thrown a bit because the outfit is the one I remember her wearing when I saw her in Sacramento in 1975. She came out on stage with those feathers, leather outfit and super high platforms, and seriously hitting those long wails at the beginning of "Once You Get Started". Everyone lost their minds!

The recording was live and not a studio version of the song. I'm guessing it was recording at one of her concerts.

Live meaning recorded live unlike a studio recording. Recorded music is edited unlike live music meaning the band was playing in the studio and it's like a concert at a music festival versus something that is been recorded and heavily edited in the studio. They played and the director pressed record. That is what is meant by LIVE. Go back to music from the 60s and 70s and you will not hear a lot of editing like you hear now. It mostly actual musicial instruments with actual players.

Recorded music is edited unlike live music meaning the band was playing in the studio and it's like a concert at a music festival versus something that is been recorded and heavily edited in the studio. They played and the director pressed record. That is what is meant by LIVE. Go back to music from the 60s and 70s and you will not hear a lot of editing like you hear now. It mostly actual musicial instruments with actual players.
