I loved the band Chaka had in the late 80s, early 90s. More rock-oriented.

As far as I remember, we recorded this in the spring of 1990. We were young and needed the money🤣

The opening concert at the Feuerwache (Mannheim) was comparably good - no, actually better (because I was there live) - „Ich will noch lange nicht nach Hause...“ :-)

Yes I guessed late 80s too but then I should have known since early-mid 90s Chaka is peak Chaka and this is one of her best.

Sooo...i've seen a ton of live Chaka shows on youtube, all decades. And I must say she killed the vocals but is it me or damn everything is sounding so rushed here?? It's like the band is a little too early on almost every beat. Damn.

I don't hear it. Checked with a metronome as well and they did rush AND drag in some specific parts but otherwise the tempo was fairly consistent. I didn't find any evidence of the drummer being early all the time. That kind of thing I would hear pretty fast (I'm a drummer as well) and professional drummers can't really do that kind of thing, otherwise they'd simply get fired.

Wenn Sie doch nur nicht so schreien würde. Weiß nicht wie man das gut finden kann. Ansonsten höre ich sie ja ganz gerne. Anyway, Janis Joplin hat man ja auch überlebt.

i think the band is a blast !! chaka, who lived in mannheim by that time, chose the band zebra (which comes from heidelberg thats near to mannheim) on her own and asked them to play with her. they had month together rehearsing and i think, amongst many others, it was a true success!
