Where we live the loggers only cut the wood the machines can cut,leave all the big ones.They show up with a lot of impressive stuff,but no chainsaws.

I did the hillbilly bull port on my ol 288 yrs back and that sob will rattle yer teeth out. Ol low top version and it will cut all day hottern the gates and never miss a beat…melted the brake off and kept cuttin

Just out of curiosity and you've probably answered this question before, but are you just more comfortable with the traditional notch over the Humboldt? In the grand scheme of things the Humboldt doesn't really gain that much wood does it?

I would be hard pressed to find a guy who could throw in an absolute perfect humbolt faster that wades traditional. Plus a low stump is easy for a skidder and making low stumps with a humbolt is a lot of wasted energy. You have to remember 395’s are heavy lol.

We need an explanation chamber to understand this comment 🤣... just breaking ya balls bud but seriously the expansion chamber has nothing to do with scavenging and everything to do with amplifying the exaust pulse, then the "wall" at the other end of the expansion chamber reflects the amplified pulse back into the saws cylinder helping hold more of the fresh fuel charge in the combustion chamber making for a richer combustion density and more power not being a known it all his pipe is definitely sub par and you are right about the solution just not about the why cheers and happy new year
