It was so weird, today I had to work, and really hated to miss this, but about three hours into my shift, I thought I would log on "just to see". At the very moment I did the jury was coming into the courtroom with the verdict. I listened for about 10 minutes, then picked back up when I got home, but my timing this morning was within a few minutes of the verdict. Thank you jury for a fair and just decision, rest easy Tylee, JJ, and Tammy.

This death sentence is warranted, I hope it was all worth it to Chad and Lori. I simply do not understand the evilness involved. How very , very sad.

I know this because i have experience with that. I know a case were a wife murder her husband in the house. she was found guilty. And the house was on the market for all most 20 years. The defense pointed out that he was married once, had 5 children, had a job and was a good member of his Mormon faith. He graduated from the BYU and had served a Mormon mission and was busy writing faith-based books. She was a divorced Mormon and had married 4 times and she came on to him. That was the defense. It was all her and Alex. The prosecution did a good job showing Chad for who his is and what he did as the leader and how he led her and the others.

Arrogant and cavalier to the end. What a fool.

Sadly, no -- there will probably be appeal after appeal to the sentence, and taxpayers will continue to have to pay for his continued time in prison, at about $75,000 per year! Some of these perps have 20 years before they are finally executed, costing taxpayers millions of dollars! If the appeals go on and on for the 15 year prison sentence, Idaho taxpayers will have paid $1,125,000.00 for his prison stay!

I think she was absolutely brainwashed, like the other Chad cult members and HE instigated all the actions. He lied and manipulated her. He did say he sent the kids "away" w/fellow members and THAT'S why they were missing. That is an IMPORTANT clue as to why Lori didn't know the whoie story., I think that.

Instead of death put him into prison with the hardened convicts. They dont like these kinds of people that hurt or murder a child. He wouldnt last long and would clear up any further issues. So life behind bars would only take a few days

OK, now Chad will it have easier to set a date for a doomsday that actually occurs.

I wonder how his children feel now? Justice for Charles, Tammy, JJ, Tylee and all who were and are victims of these 2 evil zombies. He was passing death sentences, now it's his turn to receive his death sentence. SOWING AND REAPING.

Eye for an eye he arranged for 4 deaths society arranged for his. He should have taken a deal like Lori did. His children need to get out of denial so they can heal Chad failed them horribly.

Very appropriate, although we all know he'll never see the chair or the injections. He'll never feel the pain that those two children felt.

He will be locked up 23 hours a day with very limited interaction with other prisoners. Very hard for any prison gang to get to him in that environment. He’ll rot in his cell and mind until he lays on the bed for one last time as the needle is inserted in his arm!!

There's no electric chair. Idaho has lethal injection (which they recently botched on another man) and, more recently, the firing squad as an option, although that has not been used there.

Mr potato head may have had a chance at life if he showed one shred of emotion, one sense of sorry just one...but no sat there with no care the entire trial

I feel Lori/elena was as guilty as Chad/james, they should go down together, he probably thinks he will rise again anyway being as close to Jesus as he claimed to be. Well Lori and Chad believers he wasnt all powerful like you all thought, hope you all changed religions.. TAMMY, JJ, TYLEE, CHARLES it cant bring you all back but atleast he got his.

The defense attorney has not moved when listening to the jury decision. Not a twitch!

It has been my experience that the obituary of the abuser/murderer is a giant step toward healing for victim families. Time does not heal all sorrows; certainly not trauma. I sincerely hope this evil man does not appeal his sentence. He was very well represented by Atty Prior.

Meanwhile, the LDS church is dedicating a temple in Rexburg this afternoon. LDS…..leaders stand down for today and stand with the victims and victim’s families and show them love as they begin their healing journey. Please 🙏 tell the people, the church does not approve of LDS extremists. Sincerely, a former Mormon missionary. I left the church recently because the LDS faith lives in a bubble and watching Lori, Chad, Jody, and Ruby and Ballard makes the LDS faith look horrible! Wake up!

i think the Mormon church has so many off shoots of their beliefs, so many self-professed cult leaders" like Chad and seem alright with violence in service of their beliefs. You can say that about other churches, but it seems particularly odd w/LDS. Note: That is why I have doubts Lori knew her children's fate. Chad manipulated her, lied and said they were off with some other members to help deprogram them. That would explain why she didn't know why they were missing. Chad had her under his control, brainwashed and who knows how much he might have done to her. There is doubt for me. Cults are insidious, he was controlling.

Lawyer whispered we’ll appeal it. Looks like good old chad just hit a “0” himself? Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy….

In my personal opinion If an individual is sentence and receives the death penalty in this country, they should only be allowed to appeal it twice after the second time, you're going to be given a date ,a date to have the State issue a death warrant.

There have been people exonerated (found innocent) after being sentenced to death - so you really can’t just leapfrog over the appeals process.

Dark days ahead for Chad. Lori too.

Which means life... No one gets the death penalty unless its natural causes or suicide... Lori should have gotten the same sentence.

Lori should've been charged with the same - they were her kids, she knew what was going on. Alex, of course, would've been sentenced too but he died before - wonder why they didn't do an autopsy on him?

Chad will be in isolation for the rest of his life. He’ll be in a tiny cell with no human interaction except for the guards and I’m sure his kids will visit him. It takes a long time, due to appeals, to get the actual death penalty. It differs from state to state but on average they are similar. Lori will be able to create a new normal because she’s in gen pop, she can work, make friends, get involved in the different activities or education the prison has to offer. Chad will have his memories. What did he expect would come of his actions. Chad will be telling himself he’s the 2nd Christ being put to death.

No emtion by Chad what so ever. He seems so cold

Chad's attorney really reacted to that insurance fraud ... I wonder if a lot of that money went to his attorney or to pay for house then signed over to attorney ... oh so bitter sweet.

Why didn't the Judge have some strong words for Chad like he did with Lori? Why didn't he even thank the Jury for their service? It was a strange, anticlimactic ending to a very long trial.

The best thing for chads kids is for all of them sit down together and watch the trial because then ypu will see what the whole world knows you all need to watch it its only fair that you all get the truth and ypu will be able to get through it all and make up with your family who loves ypu so much

Well, they gave him what he wanted. Would have been better to let him rot in prison for the rest of his life waiting on "something" to save him.
