Hi! I've worn Chacos since 2016 (prior to that I wore Tevas) and haven't had one issue with the shoes besides your normal wear and tear. I have been through two pairs--a Z2 classic and ZX2 classic--and just ordered my third, Z2 cloud. I have extremely low, nearly flat arches and these sandals are what I wear 95% of the year. I can wear them and walk around or be on my feet all day and have absolutely zero foot pain. The arch support, for my feet, is fantastic and gives me exactly what I need in terms of confort, support, and stability. I am also a heavier person so usually, my feet are the first body part to start hurting. These shoes also help with any knee and lower back pain I may have from standing too long or being on my feet for too long. They are perfect for all terrains; I have been in creeks, fields, forests, cities, airplanes, rivers, boats, and trails. I've worn my Chacos shopping, on road trips, digging for diamonds, defending my dissertation, while walking through Mexico, hiking, gardening, and literally anything else in between. Chacos are the best shoe I have ever worn, by far.

The toe loop fixes itself once a little grit gets in and locks up the strap. You can spead it up with sand or silty dirt. Normal arches. Love them

Chacos sizing is awkward, I wear a men’s 8.5 in shoes but I wear a 7 in Chacos, the process of getting the right size was definitely frustrating.

This is an excellent review video. And I really appreciate your explanation of why I'm getting such mixed reviews about the toe strap; the people who hate it probably have a high arch. Thank you!

I’ve been eying Chacos for a while because I have Tevas but 1) don’t have enough arch support, plus 2) really prefer a toe strap to help hold the foot in place. I’ve seen lots of reviews mentioning the toe gets too tight, but I don’t have extremely high arches, so I’m hoping these will work for me. Thanks for this great review! It’s hard to find honest reviews on these.

I’m with you on that! I also have a high arch and wear a size 7 mens in chacos! I have worn chacos for the past 5 years!

I like the Chaco Z2 Clouds. The Chaco Z2 Classics? Not so much, because the toe strap is a bugger to adjust. I have also started wearing Tevas, which are just as comfortable, in my opinion.

I have the same problem like you, thats why i bought keens!

just buyers discretion. I have a low/medium arch and my high arch chacos are very uncomfortable. (this was accidental)

the toe will stop tightening up on it's own eventually.

Now I remember why I ditched by Chacos 26 years ago. It had the same problem with the toe-loop.

Try a womens size. A mens size 7 is roughly equivalent to a womens 8.5. Their are charts on line for size comparison.

I don’t like the toes loop.Take so much effort to adjust the straps..I like Teva more

I believe they remove the sole and add some extra material of some kind to provide more friction where the strap is under your arch. With high arches like mine, there's not enough weight or pressure to keep the strap moving and crushing your toe!

Just buy Teva

To advise people to use REI for try on a product and then to tell people to buy somewhere cheaper is so wrong.
