出征兵士を送る歌 - Japanese Southern Expeditionary Army Song

From 1937 to 1945 Japan was in a war with China. It was a war to liberate China from the Warlord rule it was submerged on, and the threat of Communism.
Many times did Japan warn about the exploitation of the Chinese people by the Warlords of China, and the disaster that it would be, if the Communists took control of China. In 1935 the Japanese started to pressure China to reform it's government to take power away from the Kuomintang and the Chinese army, and give it to autonomous ethnic councils, mostly to avoid confrontation or abuses from the Overwhelming Han majority in the country.
In 1937 the Japanese army was attacked by Chinese troops without provocation in the Marco Polo bridge in Hebei, near Beijing; the lack of a formal apology by the chinese government, coupled with the lack of cooperation from the vanguard party, (the Kuomindang) forced the Japanese army to take on a full-scale invasion of China.
One of the main armies was the Southern Expeditionary army, whose mission was to secure the ports of Quanzhou and Guangzhou; this is their main marching song.
Lyrics:
Advanced translation for those who want to understand the whole meaning of the song:
"The Song That The Soldiers Departing For War Sent"
Our Great Emperor has summoned us.
(Our) Existence has glory (More literally understood, the potential to be glorious), (In the manner of) the sun rising..
The 100 million are sending their praise.
(I believe the 100 million refers to the population of civilian Japan at the time, so it's a reference to the homeland)
The jubilation is so high, it reaches the heavens (literally stabs Heaven)
Go on, subjugate (the enemy), soldiers, you men of Japan
(Your) Bodies that bloom in the manner of flowers, (because of) your deep emotions
The chest of your Warriors Clothes (p sure it's referring to the uniform), fasten (your weapon to) it.
Regarding the War (Warriors is the actual meaning of the character, so this has a double meaning) of Justice and the place they are going (to be at)
Someone is trying to obstruct those dream-like warriors
Go on, subjugate them, soldiers, you men of Japan!
Place the shining and honorable national flag ahead.
The overwhelming victory (will be ours, no matter) the amount of mountains and rivers.
(more literally it translates to the incredible amount of rivers and mountains of overwhelming victory) (this way makes more sense in Japanese though)
The fighting strength of invincible Japan(edited)
Is what we we will show off to the rest of the world, as right now is the time to do so
Go on, subjugate (to show off that fighting strength), soldiers, you men of Japan
The homeland that we are protecting, we will bring them no sorrow.
Yamato Damashii is unbreakable (for the record, Yamato Damashii refers to the Japanese spirit, but I've left it untranslated as it is a concept as much as a part of national identity)
(which hardens) the pledge of the country, (and hardens) the harmony (this character is very important as it is also an older way to refer to the entire country and people of Japan) of the people
This is like a solid boulder, this preparation of ours
Go on, subjugate (for them), you soldiers, you men of Japan
Ah~, for our Great Emperor of (a bloodline that is) ten thousand years
Our loyalty is so unwavering (that we are willing to be) submerged in water and covered in grass
The vow that is humbly not carried out, will only find itself being done as far as autumn (I think this is a metaphor for those without loyalty dying quickly?)
Maybe it's valiant, to leave one's home like this?
Go on, subjugate (like this), soldiers, you men of Japan
For the blood that our ancestors spilled, (we will make it so we can see) our colors in their reflection
For the honor of our country, we will, with the banner of the Rising Sun
We will make it shine brilliantly in the skies of historical records(edited)
Carefully hoisted over the New Asia (I suppose referring to the Greater Eastern Co-Prosperity Sphere)
Go on, subjugate (for this purpose), you soldiers, you men of Japan
I´m not the original author of this video, all the credits go to FBIV.

@@MrCrazy-eb5cg How does this involve feminism? Their moral was so high because they weren’t fighting for glory, but for who they saw as a literal god. When you are rooted to believing someone is your god and raised from a very young age and everyone around you believes in the same thing you get a generation willing to do anything for their god.

Operation Ichi-Go is an operation conducted by the Japanese Army on the Chinese mainland from April 17th to December 10th, 1944 during the Sino-Japanese War. It was the last major offensive of the Japanese Army, which caused the National Revolutionary Army to be hit hard and affected during the Chinese Civil War. However, on the other hand, the United States is also mediating the conclusion of the Double Tenth Agreement with Chiang Kai-shek in order to avoid a civil war. According to a study by Barbara W. Tuchman, the results of this operation had a more significant impact on the subsequent war situation than the Japanese had imagined, and had a decisive impact on Japan's fate. According to it, Franklin Roosevelt has consistently strongly trusted and supported Chiang Kai-shek since the beginning of the war, and encouraged him in the war against Japan so that he would not drop out of the Allies in a single peace with Japan during the Cairo Conference. However, he said that he changed his mind because the front of Chiang Kai-shek collapsed due to this operation. In fact, Chiang Kai-shek has not been invited to important Allied conferences ("Yalta Conference" and "Potsdam Conference") since then. According to the Stilwell document, Roosevelt said, "Can China win?" Stilwell said, "There is no choice but to eliminate Chiang Kai-shek." During the 1944 Hengyang battle, he could not sleep at night and twice. He says he thought about suicide. The American side also planned to assassinate Chiang Kai-shek, and three methods of "poisoning", "aircraft incident", and "pretending to be suicide" were considered, but it was canceled in 1944 due to changes in the international situation such as Burma. The successor that the United States envisioned is Sun Fountain. As Roosevelt's Chief of Staff George Marshall and General Joseph Stilwell have long insisted, Chiang Kai-shek's army is actually a demoralized and corrupt organization that does not form an army. It became clear that he had no desire or ability to fight with the United States and other Allied forces. As a result, President Roosevelt changed the scenario of the operation against Japan from the conventional bombing of Japan and other countries from the air bases of mainland China to the one that MacArthur and others claimed to occupy the islands of the Pacific Ocean one after another. China was dismissed at the Yalta Conference, and the Allied nation's footsteps were disturbed, with angry Chiang Kai-shek presenting a peace plan to Japan against the will of the United States. The Japanese Operation Ichi-Go attack left the National Revolutionary Army with 750,000 casualties. This caused the Kuomintang to lose to the Communist Party in the civil war. China would not have been dominated by the dictatorship Communist Party if it had made peace with Japan and cooperated in protecting it from communism.

Assuming the nationalists not only won the civil war but also managed to maintain their rule, certainly the Korean War wouldn’t have broken out, the Taiwan issue would have been non-existent, HongKong wouldn’t have been as important as it is now, and Japan probably wouldn’t have had the immediate chance to reindustrialize after WWII destruction. On the other hand though, Chinese mainland would have remained a theatre of the Cold War. Military conflicts revolving Soviet-controlled Xinjiang and American-backed KMT would be a certainty. Without the support of red China, Cold War would have ended much earlier with soviets being the loser, though out of Soviet desperation, risk of war in Europe should be much higher than in the pressing result of the CCP remaining victorious over the chinese mainland. It was one of the many discussions the Allied leaders had over what the result of a KMT China could result in due to the aggression that the KMT shown in the denial of important discussions. In fact is would've united the Communists and Democracy's against the KMT simply due to their unprecedented aggression towards America in general. After the 2nd World War, American leaders who were fond of Roosevelt's Opinion on Chiang Kai-Shek even formally congratulated the Generals who helped Japan in the Sino-Japanese war simply because of public sway of KMT opinion.
