Thank you for explaining "point" system. It's a great way to incentivise preferred behavior but an even better way to discourage poor behavior. Far better than jailing, fining or otherwise punishing. Also, finding out how people are living, tracking their progress is, in this instance, a beneficial use of data gathering. Detractors might say it's invading privacy & extending gov't control. However, the end goal really DOES seem to be finding a path to common prosperity. I visited a small part of Tibet in 2007. I must say these folks in the video seem happier, more prosperous & calmer than the rural folks I saw then. Truly good intentions do produce truly good results. Yes, I hope the world is watching & taking note.

@@elon6784 Common prosperity does not mean equal prosperity. Prosperity just means everyone should have enough for the normal expenses for a comfortable life. Everyone has a job opportunity to earn their own living. It does not mean everyone must be a millionaire. It does not mean that people expects handouts. What the government is doing is to level the playing field and give a hand to the disadvantaged. The government makes sure there is good infrastructure to facilitate businesses and jobs, good education and health care for all. There will always be challenges and it is an endless job to keep the finger on the economic pulse and adjust and implement as required. The real thievery is when the rich gets richer by taking advantage of the voiceless and the defenceless, who gets poorer and poorer. Many work very hard for lesser and lesser.

Very heartwarming, I noticed myself after watching many CGTN documentaries, speaking to my mainland friends, watching expat videos that the biggest complaints about China come from middle class or wealthy families. While the poorer people have nothing but praise to say. But as I expected there is a future plan to achieve common prosperity

The CCP‘s Common Prosperity initiative aims to walk the fine line between capitalism and social equality. A very ambitious approach that I hope will succeed. In my opinion, the party should encourage the founding of employee owned and operated companies in all sectors. The Mondragon Corporation in Spain with 80,000+ co-owners is a success story of 67 years that proves that it is possible to combine the innovative strengths of capitalism with socialistic principles.

In the last 2000 years, China had been the world leader for the last 1800 years! She had seen the ups and downs of empires, hence is full of experience of being a world leader. The most important policy of being an effective government is caring for people’s well beings which is economy. Through thousands of years of evolution, Chinese has a simple saying: food is the God of the people (民以食为天)which encompasses all priorities and necessities of governance. US has no history; it barges in like a drunken cowboy while being the strongest nation in the world and in the process, it causes its own downfall. The whole world can see that very clearly!
