Hollywood can be good at both making money and art, in different ratios, waxing and waning over the years. Absolute statements like, "Hollywood is good at making money, not art" are just reductive hyperbole for the sake of nothing. Hollywood has and does make amazing art. Some of what they produce is subjectively crap. Some objectively crap. Seems to me it's real easy to bash on an entire industry these days. Some of those critics might wanna try creating something themselves, see how they do. Armchair directors, actors, writers...all doing nothing but complaining. Effort lost. I'd challenge them all to try and do better.

Same. I remember this animation when I was in college long time ago. And these days it’s very accurate 😢

Tomek Bagiński is genius, watch his other animations and remember, this was done 20 years ago. more advance graphics back than then in biollion dollar industry.

Every great animations begins with a clever concept and this is no exception - brilliantly conceived and wonderfully executed (no pun intended).

When I first saw the guy taking the picture of the fallen soldier I was like, "Wow, what a sick guy". But when I saw that they were making a movie, and that _each frame was a dead soldier_ , then "Wow, THAT is sick". Because *imagine the hundreds of soldiers that didn't fall the way that they needed* and they kept killing more until the guy fell "correctly"...

Потом навешают простым людям лапшу на уши на тему защиты отечества и православия, и отправят воевать. Американские навешают лапши своим солдатам. Итог, вы будете друг друга убивать, а олигархи будут иметь профит. В первую мировую так и было. Маяковский даже стих написал по этому поводу - "Вам".

Рабство как раз давно отменено, вот только дуракам из заполнителей достаточно немного мозги промыть, чтобы они сами бежали на смерть защищая интересы олигархов, еще и друзей агитировали. - вот где действительность. При этом сейчас у каждого есть выбор - воевать или нет. А в мультике у солдата выбора нет.

I was blind and this film showed me the light, cause it changed my views on the pride of being a soldier and the loyalty with which we follow orders. What a great film!!!

I love how it's also a nod to traditional animation, although in a very dark and perverted way 😆. I remember seeing this short when I went to UNI more than a decade ago. One of the best shorts i've seen in my life.

Fantastic rendition of certain misunderstood genius's military art: the flare, the uniqueness, the final objectives... Now we do understand this most noble art of war.

@@mikluhzolot8239 Оригинальное название - Sztuka spadania. Штука спадания на кириллице. Думаю второе слово вы и сами переведёте, а вот sztuka по-польски "искусство". Итого имеем "Искусство падения". То что там по-английски написано - срань (английским поляки владеют так же, как и русские, через жопу). Ориентируемся на оригинальное польское название.

Some moments hit you in a way that you can't express. 4:15 where the soldier is flapping their wings like an angel was one of those moments. The fact the artist is barely even looking at the pictures, lost in his own imagination of the war.

What a powerful message behind this animated fim! Tank you.

Looks to be about 8 fps for the “show”. From 3:23 when it starts showing dead soldiers. This lasts to 4:23 with the latest soldiers death shown on screen. That means that at 8 fps with each soldier being a frame, we come to 480 dead soldiers. Of course, that doesn’t count “rejects” since the “filmmaker” clearly inspects each shot to make sure he gets the result he wants.

Perfect music and idea. Bravo !!! We are living our life working, fighting and dying just for fun of somebody!

Animation, texturing, rigging, illumination...all AMAZING....but....the story and music???!!! Damn it !!! That's really HUGE !

how ironic that such profound commentary should be so ambiguously presented. the best points are often left up to the viewer to make...brilliant! i can't recall where or when i first saw this (on some channel, somewhere), but i've loved it from that moment.

I am shocked at how much he looks like Putin today, considering that he has been a cartoon for 20 years! That is, the authors could not have known that he would be like this, they simply created a collective image of the villain from their heads. Amazing!

Had a giggle at the start as I was reminded of the "Vampire Training Tower" from Hotel Transylvania 2. Then I'm thinking "You push them off, they figure it out" Then it got dark real quick. The animation is incredible!

this introduced me to the fantastic music of Fanfare Ciocarlia. I also had the opportunity to go to one of their concerts a few years ago. this just shows how even in dark moments, there is a small ray of light to find pleasure in.

Сейчас США нет дела до земель, находящихся на другом континенте, потому что их содержание несёт большие затраты, а вот выкачивание ресурсов с этих земель при минимуме затрат - самое то! Да и зачем чем то владеть, если можно печатать бесконечно фантики и за бесценок владеть тем что нужно. А когда придёт время платить по счетам перед должниками, зачем? Можно отправить туда авианосные группы и намекнуть что все долги должны быть списаны! Читайте З.Бзежинского...он все написал в своей книге "Великая шахматная доска".

Гениальнее он вложил всё то тошнотное, что с отвращением воспринимаешь военоначальников и прочих кардиналов! При чём на столько, что повторно смотреть не захочется. Вот бы ОНИ сами со стороны себя именно таких воспринимали, как паучья обрюзгшая мразота, чья плоть распирает от того что пожирают души невинных, чьи руки по локоть в крови, и это им доставляет удовольствие.... Фуууууу
