What I love about Chicago fire is that it's so real and it simulates what would happen in real life, but I wish the scenes and video was a bit longer than 3 minutes

there's nothing realistic about this show. These shows are about drama and entertainment, not about realism. You want real go watch docudramas about real fire fighters, cops, and paramedics.

@@nycot107 indeed extractions like this takes time 30-60min is not unusual treat first what could kill, if this was real life, stop the bleed, put in a IV with fluids (plasmalytes) and then start with the extraction

You have to prioritize life. Whichever victim is showing the most positive chance at survival is who they focus their efforts on; hence why they rescued her first🤷‍♀️ Regardless that is was their Chaplin, he was demonstrating the least life.

I mean not really. That woman was in no apparant immediate danger so if they had a safe way to extract him without hurting her they wouldve done that. But putting someone in (more) danger to save someone else is never a good idea.

@@101spacemonkey Depends on the scenario to be honest. There are also cases where one victim is already on the verge of death and has little chance of survival, while another victim is in less immediate danger but also critical. In such a case and with limited manpower, you may choose to save the one with the better chance or risk losing both. It's also the reason with in mass victim incidents, like a train crash or something, they give the victims yellow/red/black tags, with the black ones meaning they're either beyond saving or take too much time to save, and thus they should be left to die in order to save others.

some of yall really know nothing huh. some of u say the woman's still conscious and in no immediate danger, casey literally said she could be paralyzed, and her legs were freaking squished and probably crushed on impact. and for those who said the chaplain could have been pulled out without moving the car, you need to realise that he has to be pulled out with his body all straight as they don't know if there's any internal injuries, you can see in the end, it took more than 5 ppl to get him out bc they have to stablise his body, even a small shift can cause huge damage, use ur brain ppl

So am I seeing this wrong or couldn’t they have gotten the Chaplin out before cutting the top of the car if the door in the back on the left was accesible. They just would not have had that much room to carry him. In his laid back position they maybe could have gotten him out the same way by putting one person with him inside and one pulling him from outside? But I liked the message of equal rights even with personal feelings in the equation.

Moving him through the back window would've been too risky. For all they knew he could've had a severe spinal injury, in which case the less movement the better
