Cessna Citation XL flight to Scottsdale Arizona
This is a flight in the Cessna Citation Excel mid-size private jet to the Scottsdale Arizona Airport. The flying portion of the video includes the pilot cockpit view of the takeoff and landing as well as the Air Traffic Control communications and pilot intercom. We make a quick stop in Liberal Kansas to refuel then takeoff again. On our 2nd day we drive the Tonto National Monument.

2:35 that’s gotta be the furthest from an airport I’ve ever heard anybody self announce. 29 miles and setting up for a base!

I do that sometimes when my ground speed is 250+ and you are three or four minutes from the runway it’s about time not just distance when there is traffic.
Nice to see you guys flying again.
We have a Carrabas here in Southgate, Michigan. Good choice. @12:23 " And that was the last we ever saw of him....."
Great video and trail exploring. Thank you for having me along.
Scottsdale airport is a classy restaurant over looking the runway is great when not to hot outside eating available.
I have missed you on here Jim and Mike. The ruins were amazing. Thanks for letting us ride along.
That headwind killed the Excel's performance. Great flying, busy airspace and nice little side trip added bonus! C-ya 🛫🛩

Good day Jim. Thanks for taking us with you. Looked like nice weather and a beautiful day to fly. Air Traffic sounded a little Busy at scottsdale. I love Carrabba's my favorite dish there is the Marsella chicken.

Very cool, on my first week working in Citation Product Support I went on an XL service test flight (1998). Best start to a job ever!

The both of you had great looking flights. The stop there in Liberal, Kansas was nice and then on to Scottsdale, AZ looks pretty cool. The approach look good going to Scottsdale.
Love the combination of flying and local exploration you have on your channel. Great video and beautiful scenery. If I ever see a 130 knot headwind in my plane, I'd be better off walking. Keep up the good work.

Nice flight, except that bit in the middle. Liberal reminds me of why I don't live in the flyover states. As soon as you got low I wanted to leave. Just a runway and a few hangers in the middle of endless nothing. Amusing to see the primary displays are old CRT technology. Nobody would ever have known in the past because your eye doesn't see that. Modern digital cameras catch some curious effects.
Got a kick out of the early request to slow up. Toss the brakes out! Nice flight sir.

Thanks for the after flight part of your video. Flying is fun but after a while there are only so many clouds to view and then it gets boring. Keep up the after flight part of your videos, even increase it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way.
Beautiful! Next time youre in the PHX area come check out our CAF museum at FFZ!

Greetings! I'm new to your vlog and have really enjoyed the scenery with this up to Liberal and on to Scottsdale. Do you always fly with two pilots with this Excel? I love the Scottsdale area.
Am I thinking of someone else? It seems that I remember that hotel and pool and Carraba's from a previous trip to Scottsdale from a few years back.
Alright, Citation videos!

Nice to see you still flying. Is the Excell a nee plane for you? The panel looks like is a newer style.
Morning captain as a 747 pilot that flies cargo do you use ACARS and TAF?it be wonderful if you could touch base on them be safe my friend Greg the pilot
Greetings from Trinidad and Tobago

Do you have a APU? Cessna did build a few with no APU. I hated it when I got one of those assigned for my rotation.
Rudest, harshest 'alt alert' ( auto disconnect?) sound ever. Lol!. aside from that, great Videos.
The 182 calls his intentions 29 miles out at Liberal! Former Space Shuttle pilot?
Krike! Give me heads up next time ill come out and see the ride! Lol

is it my misperception or do not allow your copilot to get stick time? It seems you always do the takeoffs/landings. True? False?
Kansas is so flat, you can watch your dog run away for 3 days!!!!!!!!
What does it cost to fill up when you have to stop for gas?
Mike should have a second career doing voiceovers...

for those of us who like to compare airplane capability in the real world, where did you take off from? Is it a secret for your clients? Was it 130 kts on the nose the whole way?

What day did you do this flight? I was in a C172 at 4500 feet over Scottsdale on January 24. There were broken clouds and rain that day and Approach reported a Citation 1000 feet below me. I seriously doubt this was your plane but worth asking.

is it comfortable for people with long height to be a pilot in this type of plane? im 190
I can hardly wait to be in the financial position to buy my favorite Captain from his current employer.
Why wouldn't the customers just charter a jet that can fly non stop?..just curious!
