Roshi and Sheera are dragging Sugar unfairly. They can acknowledge Carmy grieves differently but won't cut Sugar the same slack. Sugar had to handle all the chaos alone when Carmy wasn't there and then he ignores her when he's back. She probably had to be the one to plan Mikey's funeral. Sis is about to lose her house but she shouldn't "stress out" Carmy. Carmy is sauteing cereal boxes at night. The way he handles stress is not working.

@@mrterrific2323 Completely missed the point. It's not about whether a female character is bad or not. Rather it's the response to it. In a show like Succession where all three children are fucked up the vitriol I've seen directed towards Shiv compared to the male characters is not proportional. The amount of bad takes I've read about her character especially on reddit threads have seriously made me question if all our us were watching the same show. Also Tom was ready to fuck someone else on his bachelor party and did have sex with someone else and was pretty enthusiastic about asking Shiv about it. Maybe his behaviour led her to think he might be okay with an open marriage or does everyone genuinely think that bachelor parties are some kind of exception to monogamy.

If someone else is dealing with grief he expects they want to do it alone too, like him. I think Pete is the only sane person. Carmy and Sugar might be the sanest of all the insanes, but Carmy has avoidant issues and Sugar has a constant reminder of making mistakes making her somewhat a people pleaser. Their family really messed up Mikey, Carmy, and Sug. I feel bad for the three siblings.

Sugar needs to learn to back out from Carmy's avoidant tendencies just as much as Carmy needs to learn to handle situations from Sugar's people pleasing tendencies. The tip of their scale is not balance. Carmy always runs away, Sugar always takes the blame, and Mikey always defuses the situation.

I remember working with hundreds of people who get mad and say they're going to quit and I never understood it. Like Tina said "where you gonna go?" Gonna just end up at the next restaurant down the street doing the same shit with all the same problems.

The thing people have gotta remember about Sugar is she's the youngest. Carmy AND Michael are able to operate without Sugar, but Sugar has always had those two as old brother figures. Michael was a mess, and (for reasons the show will go into later) Sugar felt like she had to smooth out his rough edges and help him be 'calm'. And then he killed himself. Despite financially, socially and physically better off than Michael, Carmy really is dancing on that same cliff and it's scaring the shit out of Sugar.

15;54 I felt that crying face in the background at "The chaos has definitely calmed down"...weirdly, I'm entertained by the dysfunction.

I felt bad for Sugar. Taxes are deducted on the year you do your taxes. Lol the IRS will let you go about five years of not filing before they come for you. (But don’t test it out. File every year folks.) But Sugar didn’t know she was a co owner. I’m sure if she knew she could have gotten those deductions added properly. Filing amendment taxes is a bitch and a half. But I see her pushing at Carmy because she wants her brother to be ok. She’s like a mom to Carmy. And moms notoriously will try and make their kids aware of everything even if it contradicting. Richie is spiraling right now, and partly it's because he has no idea how to express or what to do with all his grief over Mikey killing himself. Mikey was like his brother, his ride-or-die. Now he doesn't even have time to process Mikey committing suicide before Mikey's little brother comes in and tries to change everything. Even if deep down he knows it's for the best, to him, it feels like disrespecting the memory of Mikey and replacing him before the body is even cold. It's not rational, but grief is never rational.
