This is great! The internal politics of New Order are none of my business, but I will say this: the difference between Peter Hook and New Order, today, is that New Order might play Love will tear s apart because they're expected to . . . Hook plays these songs because he wants to. You can tell the difference.

This is exactly it. I went to watch Peter Hook & The Light in Vancouver sometime in 2016-2017, and it felt like they meant every song they played. It was amazing. New Order just seems lazy by comparison. Peter really seems to care about keeping the songs authentic while still putting a new spin on them. I feel like get to see what Joy Division and New Order in its early years must have sound like. I'll go to every show he does around my part of the world.

The fella who mixed this is an old friend of mine, Josiah Mazzaschi. We were in a teenage band together, and we would have drinks and listen to Joy Division, New Order, Bauhaus, the whole shebang. I really love that he worked on this. Hats off to you Josiah!!

Shane, you are ABSOLUTELY AWESOME on this recording. The life you've given this track is indescribable. The intricacy and concentration with which you're playing is quite something to witness. You've really kept that whole performance together - well done, mate! Between you guys, you've succeeded in putting out a JD/NO track which is better than the original! This is the best version of this track I've ever heard. Everything is spot on. The conviction in Hooky's performance is beautiful. You can tell he still loves these songs and he's doing it for his love of Ian.
Joy Division's last song, New Order's first song. Saw New Order in Wellington, NZ on 6 December 1982. Played 'Movement' plus one song I did not recognize. Smoked a joint in the audience.

Ian is probably hooting it up over what Peter and the Light have been accomplishing. His spirit is clearly still alive.
Best vocal on this song ever since Ian. Wonderful version.

Gave me the chills. If that terrible day hadn't happened to Ian, I think this is how the song would have sounded with Ian and everyone else in the studio putting together the next Joy Division album. Well done.

Spot on friend. I'm a massive fan of Joy Division and New Order, but I won't even listen to what the current so called New Order are putting out, it's not New Order without Hooky. It seems we now have two tribute bands, one which is still pretending to be New Order and another which isn't pretending to be either New Order or Joy Division, but which reproduces the songs of both bands brilliantly.

The music alone is so beautiful....you don't need the lyrics....but then the lyrics start and it's even more beautiful...
The best rendition of one of the greatest songs I’ve ever heard. Quite brilliant.
Hookys vocals just keep getting better, unlike someone else who he used to be in a band with. Can't wait to Hooky and The Light back in New Zealand next February ! At least we can still go out to see bands play here,so the more overseas acts, the better.
Love this still praying for a miracle of reconciliation between Peter and Bernard
Thanks Hooky, Jack, Jeff, and Shane for this AMAZING performance! Been a fan of JD/New Order since my teens (I'm 54 now). You are the soundtrack of my life.

What a fantastic recording. Great production and mixing (well done Josiah). As good, if not better, than the original and not often you can say that. Hooky's voice has developed so well over the years and has been ahead of Barney's for a long time.
