I will show you the complete process cerakoting and restyling of the p018 this is a restyling after restoration, with cerakoting and assembly of my first restored pistol. After a year of publishing my first video, I wanted to give it a worthy makeover. Some spots were not browned well, and others had begun to rust. So the restoration process had to come to an end. I started by cleaning the gun with acetone and blasting it with aluminum oxide. Then I treated the gun with a cerakote cover and finally polished the sliding surfaces. I finished it all by replacing the damaged parts of the gun.

I personally prefer the new look (the only thing I think is missing is some wood polishing on the handgrips to preserve them better), If you take a close look at the slider you can notice that the cerakoting process removed every sign of past corrosion, now it seems a brand new gun.

The "before" look was made with cold blueing and, since cold blue is just copper oxide, it's good for small touches but, if given to the entire weapon, it has weird "blue green" reflections.

I've found Cerakoting to give the best outcomes for serviceability in the field, if I wait two full months after application of the product, before reassembly! A few years ago, I ised it on a Remington 870, and shot many duck & geese before retiring it in favor of a Ruger O/I in stainless. I then did a Garand M1 in Sniper Grey that had seen extensive service, missing 80% of the original Parkerizing. I get OOH & AAHs @ the range, even tho it throws more patterns than t does groups due to a well worn barrel, I'll keep it as is for sentimental reasons! Anyhow. take your restored /Cerakoted weaponry and shoot them to your hearts content! You've chosen a fine product, neither of mine show any appreciable wear, the shotgun several thousand shells & the Garand 3-5 hundred, +/-... I ❤️ the AK & the Uzi, BTW, nice pieces tho your handguns are pretty swell too !

i still prefering it silver with black polymer handles, but is a nice work anyways.
First, i have no skills in restoring anything. your first video left me wanting a better finish, yes the gun was restored to working condition but it still looked "rough". this video finished the arc and turned your pistol from junk to a family heirloom. I'm curious, were you restoring weapons before you made youtube videos? great video, will pass it along to friends.
Gonna guess he lives in Italy because the pistol is in 9x21 not 9x19. Looks amazing though.

With cold bluing a pistol, I've had the same unsatisfying results after a time. I believe there is a way to get a good cold blue job, but the prep and execution is so precarious and delicate Idk if it's worth it. I ended up getting mine cerakote by a gunsmith
