I just wanted to thank you for the detailed, honest and rigorous testing you do on this channel! You are the singular trustworthy voice I have found that has anything to do with testing detailing products in an objective, unbiased and scientific manner. I don’t understand how anyone who has stumbled upon your testing could spend another cent on a product without testing data to back up the manufacturer claims. The UV results alone from your testing should be a huge red flag and an eye opener to everyone. With manufactures constantly rebranding their products I hope you continue your wonderful testing for many years to come! I need to start making a habit of purchasing well performing products you review with a stable shelf life before next years version comes out and who knows what has changed!

Thanks! Yea I totally agree. We really need good standardized testing. The industry is a bit of a wild west now with crazy claims. That being said products have never been better in general so there is a lot of great stuff out there.
You said it perfectly, if you wanna wash your car and coat it, it’s perfect. I got a brand new car July of 2023, I didn’t need any paint correction as everyone was trying to push. The three tunnel washes I had didn’t ruin my paint. If I’d known what I do now, I would’ve bought Cerakote after I left the dealership and would’ve thoroughly coated my car. I’ve only applied it once so far, it’s great, but I will be adding multiple coatings before next winter. Great review. Thanks.

Thanks! Yea I think it's still a good product, just not a durability monster / pro grade in that sense. Solid spray sealant though.

@@DmitrysGarage I just realized it’s a sealant and Not a coating. I ultimately want a coating, but until I have the environment to apply it correctly, I’ll stay with multiple applications of the sealant. About every 3rd wash.
Truly a non biased review good friend. Doesnt get better than ur testing process
I like this stuff.I have put 4 coats on my SUV and I still have about 3/4 of a bottle left.I did do a claybar before I put it on and it holds up very good. The shine is crazy and it goes on easy.I put an extra coat on after one day to get it to pop even more.I will be trying the trim wipes next.
Great content Man!!
Definitely the best testing channel.

Great video Dmitry, since there are so many of these spray on wipe off and spray on rinse off products. How about a video ranking these type products so we can see which are the top 5.
I used to use this. It was a good product for the price. 3 layers gave the best water behavior in my testing. I'm using a different topper now that has amazing hydrophobics and is as easy to use as the Cerakote and last longer.

@@obeseperson I have multiple vehicles with different toppers. Gyeon can coat evo on 1. Wolf Gang uber ceramic spray on another. Soft 99 Fusso dark and Nova JET on the others. All have amazing hydrophobics. I wanted to try Cerakote's new Pro grade coating but it's been out of stock for quite awhile.
I put 2 coats of this on in the Fall before Winter and here it is March still has some like left in it very happy with the results going to keep using it
Hello my dear Dmitry, let me tell you my story with another Cerakote product: the headlight restorer. Easy to apply and a very beautiful results, BUT it didn’t lasted more than 3 months, and please believe me: I know how to work in detailing. Possibly I will try with the Sylvania headlight restorer to see if it is good, but the Cerakote dissaponinted me. And, as allways, great video my friend 👍👍👍👍 Kind regards from Mallorca, Spain.

Thanks Joaquin! Always good to hear from you my friend. I think most headlight restorers are a bit weak. I prefer to just sand and clear coat instead. Three months is pretty bad though! Hope to hear from you again soon!

Hey Dmitry, just found your channel and I gotta say, I love your objective opinion. I just bought the cerakote product you showed and was wondering if you had tested it Meguiars Ultimate Ceramic Coatin?
Dmitry, thank you so much for testing this product as I think you are the best. I use this product & really like the ease & look of it. I was expecting/hoping it would be somewhat durable which it's not. So based on ease of use, looks, durability I have to believe that the Wolfgang spray sealant is the way to go?

I think so, I still use it a lot myself. It is a bit harder to use than the cerakote, but still very easy. :-)
Great review as always! Can you do GYEON Q² Syncro EVO next? I'm curious to see how a multi-layer product holds up in your testing.

Just picked this product up for use on my boat. Once I've completed the full hull cleaning and polish, I''l be pretty interested in seeing what the longevity is in a marine environment.

Can Coat is great but I found Wolf Gang Uber ceramic spray even easier to apply and wipe down and 1 coat gave as good or better hydrophobic water behavior than 2 coats of Can Coat.
What have you reviewed that was better than this for longevity? Thanks
Should def need 2 get a hold of BC LINE UP..exceeds Expectations and then some
Have you compared your new wash testing methodology (sorry not sure when you started using the machine) to your old hood washing? Example, a product that went 50 washes in your old test methodology, did it go 50 washes in your new one? Those terrys and the bar pressure could be quite a bit more abrasive compared to a noodle mitt applied by hand to a vertical panel.
@DmitrysGarage
3 ай бұрын
It is a bit less gentle, but we still see products getting 100s of washes, even 1000 washes (our cap) was achieved by a coating recently. Keep in mind the 3d printed inserts that hold the terry applicators, are not locked into the bar/arm. This is why you see me push down on them to level them out before the test starts, they are weighted however. There is also more shampoo in the mix, so the lubricity is increased. Also we're no longer doing sub 10 wash tests, so a lot of the low durability products are no longer getting those 3, 4, 5, 7 wash scores.

@@DmitrysGarageinteresting! I was going to say your past dedication to hand washing was going to give you a massive RSI one day. I started using high activity snow foam as my wash resistance test, since it’s something actually used, and it’s high cleaning ability tells the story of whether or not the product can withstand a harsh chemical, without subjecting the paint to chemicals that would never be used in a normal wash.
They should advertise it as a quick detailer.
On your gloss meter testing..is there a reason why you uae 20 degrees. And not something like 60 degrees. Truly want to know the differences. Thank you so much.. tom
@DmitrysGarage
2 ай бұрын
20 degrees is the setting for high gloss surfaces, 60 is for semi-gloss, and 80 and greater are for duller surfaces. The 20 degree angle helps better account for haze and other imperfections in very glossy surfaces more dead on angles will miss. If you’re seeing others do it differently, I suspect some other reviewers may have not read the manual for their unit :).
SLICKNESS Test could be heavily dependent on short-lived gloss enhancers that are gone after a wash or rain. It could be more relevant run the slickness test after a quick wash & dry to better simulate real-world conditions.
@DmitrysGarage
3 ай бұрын
That is definitely an interesting proposition. I think one question too is how long the shorter lived properties may last. Is it one wash, or 5? I will definitely consider this though.
Had high hopes for this product but sadly it’s no where near the time factor of how long it lasts
Can you suggest a spray on that lasts closer to a year?

Wolfgang Uber SiO2 Silica Spray comes to mind. I would say its a near-coating and easy to use.

I think durability was possibly the only real let down, other than that I think it was good in most other categories. I'm not sure where the durability hype came from though, their marketing doesn't seem to suggest it's so incredibly durable. It may be more other content creators talking about it.
Something is up with that scrubbing machine, seems to kill protection way faster than traditional wash. I literally just did a 10 wash test after 48 hours on the paint and Cerakote Rapid Selant had ZERO signs of wear. Also threw on some APC and again zero signs of wear.
@DmitrysGarage
7 күн бұрын
The elcometer is not as gentle as hand washing. The goal of the 2.0 suite durability test is to have a very standardized abrasion test to figure out how durable the product is compared to others rather than to compare it to normal washes that can vary significantly. I see some other coatings going for thousands of passes on it vs. the cerakote. Apcs are a different kind of test, that is chemical resistance. I don’t do those as most people dont wash their cars with apcs.
Nice video! Are you interested in car accessories like lighting stuff sponsorship collab?
I would love to see Apex’s BC3 compared to this product.
