Basically imagine LowTierGod without being funny. Leffen is just an actual bumfuck of a person that I am surprised hasn't been ousted from the FGC. He's toxic as hell but hasn't done anything "too egregious" yet, but time will tell if that changes

A lot of people forget about umisho's investment on sol during season 2 Where sol wasn't just as good as he was on season 3,she decided to drop chaos a very polarizing character for his "toxic" gameplan that made him really hard to balance and decided to pick an easier more well rounded character for season 3.

He is clearly a widely popular pick and thus will be picked a lot... like he has been for the past how many years? Combo breaker was only a month ago and that had Bridget, asuka, and may with no goldlewis at all and one HC, what the fuck precedent is there other than this one tournament that this will be how EVO is? Strive top 8s have been very diverse lately (barring UMISHO and Tempest) including this tournament, but you guys don't pay attention and just say shit for no reason. My point still stand that if all you care about is character variety (which strive has in spades) just watch pools or something.

@@NrettG Nah he has decent anti airs, c.S has a wonderful vertical hitbox, 5P works better than 6P at some times because of speed, and you mentioned it's late which also has a great vertical hitbox to bring characters back to the ground. It's just a matter of timing those correctly.

@@Witchcat1999 I can't say if he's done anything recently, I don't follow the drama much. In the past, he has been an asshole to people many times. These aren't moral flaws, but his tendency to pick top tiers and then complain about game balance sour a lot of people's opinions on him more.

I never get tired of watching Umisho fight.

I play samsho 2019, but my comment stands; the things with tiers is that it's easier to play with them because their entire move list has advantages that the rest of the roster doesn't have, or can't compete. Umisho went for a traditional character (if that's applicable to strive) and it paid well. Sol afaik wasn't that good, but in season 3 he got improved. But at least isn't happy chaos.

I remember strive being my first game and the graphics and everything was so astonishing I was in awe like man … this is the future of fighting games … rollback ! Cuz, Some of them are very consistent top tier. They lead high damage combo. Sol has no weakness because of Wild-Assault. On top of that, the game gets visibly more snowballs compared to the last game. Also, the game never has a proper ranking system because of the tower system. Low skill player discrepancy will always be there. You have people who hate characters that are not their own.

We've been in Season 3 for a long while, he's clearly top tier, and not for reasons most players find fun. WWA needs a nerf because it's an overcentralizing mechanic with insufficient counterplay. Same thing with Nago's beyblade and HC's blue wild assault. Sol and Slayer don't have overcentralizing mechanics really, they just do so much damage that people often feel like they didn't earn it. I'm a long-time meta complainer, and I love the game. I don't want HC, Nago, Sol, Slayer, Goldlewis, or anyone else to lose much of their sauce. I think leaving them top tier would be fine. You're right that there're always gonna be a few. I just think progress is a good thing, and saying "it is what it is" doesn't keep a game fresh and alive.

@@juniperrodley9843 You know, starcraft 1 hasn't had an update in almost a decade, and the metagame is still shifting? Games don't need constant patches to "stay alive". Changes can be for the worse. Like when they added Wild assault.

Really hope ArcSys actually nerfs WA in the upcoming patch. It's just way too strong on some characters. Round start should not lead to a wall break + hard knockdown + positive. Also risk gets built way too fast with wa block strings.
