Where I live--MD--Home Depot sells Sakrete and Lowes sells Quikrete. I've heard that they are very similar. Sakrete has a surface bonding cement as well. Now if only I could get a clear answer to the difference between Masonry Cement and Portland Cement I'd be a happy woman.

I bought a paper mache clay dry mixture off amazon that you only add water to. It doesn't seem to have the same consistently as your clay. Do you recommend this clay? I've just started trying to do paper mache.

carlynicoleelliotte I've tried commercial versions that you add water to, and I remember having to work really fast before they harden (the kind I tried had plaster of Paris in the mix) and it was hard to get a smooth surface. But other people have tried other brands and swear by them. It's really a matter of personal preference.

katb76 Thank you! Yes, please tell her that I don't have any molds. Her Olaf would need to be made by hand, since I doubt very much that molds will be available anywhere - someone who made a mold would have to pay a royalty to the movie studio.

It's so cool. It looks so organic. Reminded me of a sculptures we have around here someplace. www.vanswietenkunstobjecten.nl/Site/Schapen.html Good place to get filler (ex-packaging) is furniture stores. They have a wide variety of stuff in huge amounts they love to get rid off. Some even good enough to sculpt with using a glue-gun.

I was wondering if you have experimented with papercrete for sculpting?

Ultimate Paper Mache No, I haven't, I've only read about it. Some use it in the southwest for everything from building houses to plant holders. I have heard that there is a possibility that they might mold, but I haven't experimented with it myself.

I would love to see a video of an Easter Island Face? what do you think??
