I’ve dreamed of living in Scotland since I was very young and I get butterflies in my belly and also get teary eyed when I hear the music and see the landscape…I have always felt that feeling of wanting to go home as well.

I tell people all the time. "The Celtic Fire Burns from within" If you know, you know. It's in your very blood. It's a deep feeling a yearning to be reunited with the gods. You hear it when the flute is blowing the Pipes are played, the strings and picked. You hear it. Not with your outer ear, but your inner. I am a Fraiser Scott. Many years ago I was in Protestant Seminary training to be a pastor. I knew there was a spiritual calling on my life But I always felt that I was "Out of Place". It wasn't because I did not want to be part and contribute to the Christian sect I was part of, but deep inside I knew it was foreign. Although I deeply respect many things about Christianity, I know that my heart and soul was part of something different. Well folks guess what? This guy who was once trained and planning to make mega christian churches is now a modern druid striving to open the eyes of those around me and help them see the light. Much love. I have been on a journey for 34 years now. A journey to find where I belong. I have cried for home many times. This video took me home. I was raised Mormon. Left at sixteen. Went back to Christianity and started attending an evangelical church eight years ago. Left three years ago because none of it ever felt like home. My brother recently told me that he is pagan and so I thought I would look into it as we are mostly of English and Scottish decent so it would connect me to my ancestors which I deeply desire. I was brought to tears several times throughout thus video as I realized my ancestors have been guiding me towards this my entire life. I use to run away to the river as a kid to escape my toxic home life. It would calm me. I felt at home. I often just sit outside and speak with my ancestors. That is where I feel at peace. I have always asked to be cremated and my ashes spread in the river to take me home. Thank you! Thank you for helping clarify things from my ancestors and giving me guidance to home.

I had similar experiences and also came to Paganism, and witchcraft as a therapy. In witchcraft, there is something called shadow work, it helps you confront the things you've hidden in the "shadow" that may help you forgive and forget past trauma.

I was raised Mormon too. Stayed long enough to marry and get our kids halfway raised, and reached my limit and left the church ( and the marriage. My ex is still very LDS) Paganism reunited me with a world that makes sense.

If you want more literature for Irish folklore and mythology, I highly recommend Táin Bó Cúailnge. It's an epic hero story kind of like an Irish Iliad. Several prominent Irish deities make appearances and the contextual interactions is very enlightening

I tell everyone interested in Celtic Paganism to read the Mabinogion, I see a lot of parallels with Welsh & Irish mythology and deities. Also THANK YOU for acknowledging how we need to be aware of biases even in the more relied on historical writings of the Romans

Very good. I was wary of what a Norse Pagan had to say about the Celts, but as a practising Druid of 40 years study, I think your appraisal is pretty spot on. Wicca is based on pan-European traditions - in particular the work of Margaret Murray - and its appropriation of various Celtic "deities" may have rather muddied the waters. You will note that none of the characters in the Mabinogion are described as deities; it is often assumed this is a result of Christian authors hiding "the truth", but it could equally well point to a difference in the world-view of the ancient Celts. Hutton has debunked the idea of human sacrifice fairly thoroughly; by all accounts animal sacrifice was fairly humane as they had to be killed instantly and without fear. It seems that every species of animal and plant had its own spirit, every place had its "genius loci"; they don't seem to organise themselves into neat pantheons like the Greeks or Norse; the world of faerie seems to exist side-by-side with everyday reality and be on much more of an equal footing. It may well represent an earlier form of animism than the Norse. Agreed that going out in nature is the way to find out. One of the features of Druidry is that it has absolutely no scripture (not even a book of shadows), so everything is up for debate and much more reliant on personal experience. "Mabon" is not a traditional festival name - it was invented by Aiden Kelly in the '70s. You should visit Stonehenge - it's a beautiful folly.

All my life I was told my family was English/Irish. For some reason that just felt wrong. It was like being given a pair of shoes you were told that they were your size, but they were uncomfortable and they never really fit. In my 20s, I discovered I was actually Welsh. I began exploring Welsh history, culture and music. The more I learned, the more I understand why I was the way I was. Celtic traditional music satisfies spiritually and emotionally in a way no other music ever has. Thank you for your video.

Thanks for the great video! I honor both the Celtic and Germanic aspects of my ancestral spirituality, just not mixing the two in rituals. Coming from regions where Germanic/Celtic mixed (Swabia and Flanders) plus the Celtiberian part of my heritage. I can say that southern Germany, both Swabia and Bavaria, have a very long and deep Celtic history. The Druid stones, the hill-forts, inscriptions and other archaeological findings that have been found. It was easy for our Germanic tribes (Suebi, Alemanni, and Bavarii) to absorb the previous Celtic tribes. In that region, we can attest to at least three Celtic Deities: Grannus and Sirona, related to healing qualities, thermal springs, and cleanliness; they are respectively masculine and feminine, showing that balance was understood; and the pan-Celtic god Lugus, whose name survives throughout the Alpine regional place-names. More to the northwest along the Rhine and up into the Netherlands were the Matronae, from whom we can extrapolate the Celts also had a three-fold view of Fates or the Nornir (we just don't know the Celtic names). I can also speak much to the Celtiberian Deities, which were very localized and regional but widespread throughout Spain and Portugal. These include Lugus and Endovelicus, but there were many, many more.

As my father was of Scots- Irish and my mother of French ancestry this video interests me very much.Ive always felt a wanting to come back home.Maybe now is the time as I am 68. I've always felt a lacking in Christianity so this content is quite interesting as well. I've always felt a higher power in the natural world around me.This video hits home!! It’s one of those senior citizen bus tours BUT…I found out that we’ll be stopping at Glastonbury (watched your video❤️) and we have an optional excursion to Clava Cairn (which I WILL be doing!!) I feel very drawn to these sites and have all my life. After 67 years I finally get to go BE there. I will be taking some small items to leave as offerings at the various sites that I get to visit. Going to try to breathe, “center”, and thank the deities/ ancestors for the awesome opportunity to commune with them. THANK YOU for all the amazing info that you’re sharing🥰

What are the basic principles you follow

Really great video! I grew up Roman Catholic. I never quite connected with it and other than Christmas and St. Patrick's day, the religion hasn't hit me. Celtic Paganism is a recent intrigue of mine and this video gave me some good references and source material to research. I love nature and historical sites. I feel something from those things and maybe it could be a calling spiritually. Thanks again for the lecture and pleasant highland journey!

This video represents the number one item on my bucket list ... visiting these places. Have always felt drawn to visiting these places, but going is a few years away. BUT ... You've allowed me to catch glimpses. Thank you. Plus good to hear more of Celtic paganism. Thank you!

I am an American (please don't hold that against me), but I've heard stories of great grandmother coming from Wales since I was a child. Besides cousins and my 2 daughters, my blood relatives are all gone. I regret I didn't write down the stories and ask more. I recently learned that both sides of many family comes from Wales. I am excited to learn more.

I'm Mexican of Spanish ancestry from the regions of Galicia and Leon. I've been heavily researching the local pantheons of that region in the Celtic world. I make sure to pray and give offerings to Pan-Celtic gods on their important dates throughout the year, (Samhain, Imbolc, Lugnasad etc) as well as solstice and equinox dates. So far I carved a simple idol of Lugh for my altar in addition to my ceramic design of Cernunos.

I’ve been exploring Celtic paganism for years but this is by far the absolute best video on it I’ve ever seen. So informative, respectful, enlightening and fun. Thank you SO much for this. This video has encouraged me to cast aside any doubt/uncertainty and officially plunge into Celtic paganism fully, as my religion. Thank you. ❤️

Donadd fort and Killmartin Glen was one of my many fav places to visit in Scotland. I usually avoid calling myself this or that as my practice keeps changing but I can truelly say that my visit to the many neolithic sites in the UK that I took my first steps towards Paganaism and at having a deeper spiritual practice.
