Celestion G12H-150 Redback Speaker | Review

Музыка

Billed as having been created for players who are looking for extreme power handling without any compromise on great tone. The G12H-150 Redback speaker from Celestion is rated at a gargantuan 150-watts, constructed with a supersized 2-inch voice coil and features the heaviest G12 magnet. The result is a guitar speaker that sounds 100% Celestion in character, yet is primed to withstand a pummeling from a 100-watt head all by itself, and still come back for more. Here is Nick Jennison with the full rundown.

Great review! Really puts the Redbacks sound into context, in comparison with the vintage 30s.

I have Redbacks and K100s in one cab and Redbacks and V30s in another. Wow! Redback and V30 is so insane. Thick, chugging and rich.

    @@AlexAlex-sf8sg A standing 2x12? Is that a vertical 2x12? I have only owned horizontal 2x12 cabs and 4x12 cabs. In a 4x12, I like an X pattern.

Redbacks are very good speakers and has enough bottom end to make a 1x12 cab sound similar to a 2x12 cab it’s also got the cream back vibe as well which nice for rock tones. Vintage 30’s are not my cup of tea.

Yes! Spilt the cab with Redback and V30. It's just magical. Together they sound so full and rich. I didn't get the same feeling with a V30 and Creamback but was close.

Nice review, I own a Line 6 Amplifi 150 that lacks of low end. Seeing your review made me make up my mind. Going to slam a Redback into it , see if it can bring some low end improvement.

The magnet is the same in the Redback and Creamback H75. It's the voice coil that's different. The Creamback M65 has the light magnet.

Nice review. I just recently put a pair of Redback's into my Rivera KS312 to replace the V30's (I've never been a fan of the V30's mid spike) that were in there previously. I've been using G12K-100's for many years and I'm VERY happy with the Redbacks. Great speakers.

How do they compare mate? Do you think pairing a K100 with a Redback in a 2x12 would give good results?

Yep the Redbacks was one of the H75 prototypes... Love a Redback/V30 blend, Redback/CL80 blend. I know the Redback/K100 goes well too and Redback/H75. I already have a V30/K100 213, so I do Redback/CL80. My 412 is Redback/V30. Amazing.

Redbacks...Rocks. H75 is worst speaker I've heard. Redbacks and CL80s or V30s blend well. I didn't find RBs gave me enough cut in my metal and rock bands, hence the blending.
