LYRICS
I tried for you
Tried to see through all the smoke and (dirt)
It wouldn’t move
What could I do
I touch your head to pull your thoughts into my hand
But now I can't
Say isn’t it strange
Isn’t it strange
I am still me
You are still you in the same place
Isn’t it strange
How people can change
From strangers to friends
Friends into lovers
And strangers again
Back to this room
Back our roots
What did we loose
What did we loose
If I could I'd pull your strings for one more dance
But I can't
Say isn’t strange
Isn’t it strange
You look at me
I look at you with nothing to say
Isn’t it strange
How people can change
From strangers to friends
Friends into lovers
And strangers again
Then the silence steals over to my bedside
And it whispers who I am
That violent disclosure turns my insides
Stops me when I try to stand
Isn’t is strange
How people can change
From strangers to friends
Friends into lovers
And strangers again

Hopefully! Then we can begin to start moving forward through great decades of inspirational music. There is not only a lack of individualism and conceptual ability in today's music, but many music stars have become stars far too easily. Those great and famous music performers of the 'roaring 20s' are still being listened to and have been listened to since that aforementioned decade: Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman, Django Reinhardt, Bessie Smith, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Tommy & Jimmy Dorsey and... Many of the above mentioned performers influenced the stars of later years and their music was the foundations of later music: The Rolling Stones were not only influenced by 'Blues' and 'Jazz', but the band covered many songs of this genre - Keith Richards received his first guitar from his grandfather who was a 'Jazz musician' and Keith's grandfather along with the Jazz band he was a member of fostered Keith's interest in the guitar. Paul McCartney was heavily influenced by 'American rhythm & blues' and the influence of his father - a trumpet player and pianist who led Jim Mac's Jazz Band in the 1920s. Many famous guitarists (Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix...) were influenced by 'American Blues' and in the beginnings of 'Rock music' the genre was named 'Bluesrock'. And...

What I love about this is that her voice, which is evidently haunting in and of itself .. but that it captures the very essence behind the lyrics .. she takes you somewhere. Its transportive and transformative all at once. Many voices are considered technically flawless and there are so many facets in singing that make a song sound good but not every voice can communicate the message in this way. Spellbinding.

She had given an interview praising Lady Gaga, she seemed to be so kind so I thought and give her a chance and listen to her songs, I am shocked to see this woman's voice and talent! ❤

For me, one of the very few highlights of the evening. From the depths of subdued lighting, piano chords emerged and simple melancholic words with such meaningfulness were artistically performed with great emotion and gracefulness. Celeste, thank you for those precious minutes and for bringing a sparkle of brightness into a relatively dull show.

Saw her perform this song on Colors and LOVED it, and really really love this too. I fee like the spirit of the two performances is different. On Colors, she was a lot quieter, like she was near tears and was still heartbroken. Here, she sounds very confident, like she’s facing her past self and choosing to change. I’m going to go see if she has any new music because...she gives me the feels that Adele never gave me.
