Celebrity Wine Tasting: Dave Matthews' “Dreaming Tree”

Today we’re tasting together a “Celebrity Wine”. I’m always interested in tasting these celebrity bottles as I’m always a little skeptical and wondering whether it is only hype and vaporware, celebrities using their fame to sell you whatever fermented grape juice, or is there some substance behind the winemaking. Today we’re tasting The Dreaming Tree ‘CRUSH” red blend by American star singer and songwriter Dave Matthews. Just researching this wine I found some interesting stuff, some strange sometimes contradicting information that didn’t appease my skepticism so let’s talk about the Dreaming Tree and get on with tasting it, I’ll tell you what I sincerely think about it as a winemaker myself and will score it as well.

For years I've been dying to hear about the quality of this wine. Being a huge DMB fan, I've never bought it. Skeptical he was using his celebrity to create a fair quality wine and I'd be dissatisfied. His song Dreaming Tree is wonderful. So I'm smiling with this rating and thorough review. But it's not enough for me to drive out to buy the wine... I'll stick with his music... which I know is stunning. Cheers! 🍷

It’s too bad they did try Blenheim Vineyards in Virginia, the winery he actually owns and doesn’t just lend his name to.
You need to try Blenheim wines that is the actual winery that is his🍷
I'm drinking a bottle of 2021 Crush. It's so bizarre. On the nose, it's heavily alcoholic. Clears the nose, actually. But on the pallette, it's not bad for the price point. So fucking odd.
