That is true, sad to say but honestly speaking a lot of people who end up in the LGBTQ community have been abused/traumatized in some way but people don't address that enough because it's more PC to say they were "born that way" and society as a whole is wrong for not accepting their lifestyles not the people/person who abuse others, especially children. If some of those things were still treated as mental illness or the result of trauma i feel like there would be way less suicides or deaths like Howard's that result from those lifestyles and the masking of pain

There is noway that his motion picture opportunities should have dried up after giving two stellar performances. I personally feel that he deserved the Oscar for RAGTIME. If not that performance he most definitely should have won one of those major acting awards for A SOLDIER'S STORY. He went back to television and Denzel took over where he left off on the big screen. Nicely done mini doc! Howard Rollins is an actor whose work should not be forgotten.

After listening to this story I nearly broke down! What A TORTURED LIFE!!! I knew he passed away in the 90's but I didn't know why. I do now!! In the heat of the 🌃 was my show to watch because of Carol O'Connor's slickness and sense of humor and Howard's "Hard as nails delivery" in his passionate performances! I had to make sure I had the opportunity to catch the reruns! Nearly 30 years has passed and it seemed like a blur! Rip to both Howard Rollins an Carol O'Connor!

When I think of Howard Rollins, all I can say is: FINE, FINE, SUPER FINE. Beautiful skin, long eye lashes, nice lips, gorgeous, teeth that looked like pearls. Definitely, easy on the eye. I saw him in, Soldiers Story, and fell in love with him. I heard about the other side of him and I did not want to believe it. I hate that he got on drugs and I wonder, if it was due to the fact, that he could not live like who he really was? What was once taboo, is now accepted. Times changed.

I'm probably not the only one who has thought of this, but I wonder if Howard Rollins was in the closet and had a hard time trying to keep it hidden and coming to terms with it. It wouldn't surprise me if that's a big reason why he was so self-destructive. As far as we know, he never married or had children (of course, just because a man goes his entire life without being married to a woman or having kids doesn't automatically mean that they must be gay) or had any known high profile relationships with women. And of course, we can't talk about the questions surrounding his sexual preference without bringing up the rumors that he liked to wear women's dresses.
