I loved her in a tv show called The District. She co-starred with Craig T. Nelson. She passed away and I was heartbroken. They wrote her death into the script. The life and spirit seemed to leave the show so it was cancelled after that. She was one actress who was always working, always starring in quality shows. I really miss her. Thank you for honoring her. ❤

Lynn was a great and sadly underrated actress. She wasn't considered beautiful by Hollywood's standards but she took on every role and added so much depth to it. I too remember her as that spiteful mother in Lean on Me and that stingy expression she exuded when Morgan Freeman, as Mr Clark insisted that the mostly urban black mothers "GET OFF OF WELFARE!" The first time I saw Lynn in a film, was the 1973 musical, "Godspell." She played one of the progressive Apostles and sang one of the catchy tunes. She really had a nice voice. I'm so happy you chose to highlight her cinematic accomplishments and her lasting legacy in the field of entertainment.

There's a behind the scenes video of 'The Warriors' in which actor David Patrick Kelly discusses his friendship with her and how she became a crucial part of the film. And he is spot on because the close ups focusing on her mouth as she gives the play by play account of the Warriors finding their way home, are part of why the film is a cult classic. May she rest peacefully.

Thanks for sharing the story of the talented stage, tv and movie actress Lynn Thigpen. Didn't know she was from Joliet, Illinois, which is my home state. Truly sad hearing how she died so unexpectedly. Loving tribute of her hometown in naming a school after her. May she rest in peace.🌹🎤🎭🎞🎥🎬📺

Love her, grew up watching her on where in the world is carmen san diego but her voice in the Warriors still runs in my head from time to time. She deserves more respect then she has gotten.

Wow as a young performer coming up in the early 70s there were very few black actresses to look up to. Loved her, watched her, rooted for her. Thanks for making this.

Before I view this I need to say I'm one of those people who takes time to know actors I appreciate and I can always put a name with the face of some of the most " known unknowns" because of how great of a performance they've done.
