henry is a very nice guy, i worked at the 4 seasons restaurant in NYC for over 25 years. a lot of celebrities ate at the restaurant over that time. one day he came in with john ritter and they were the only ones that came into the kitchen to thank the cooks in those 25 years.

@@JSark-by2ts sorry but i don't remember what they ordered. it was over 20 years ago and i didn't even know they were eating at the restaurant until they came into the kitchen afterward so i'm not sure what they ate. as to preparing something special, i don't think so, most of the celebrities that came in just ordered from the menu, but it was usually a standard practice to give them an hordurve( not going to even attempt to spell it right) and a free middle course

@beardley Let's say you have a set of lotto numbers - the same numbers, every week. Then, one week, you decide to not buy a ticket. And THAT'S the week your numbers come up. As painful as that might be, you can imagine that happening. That's essentially what happened. I get it - you can't buy every script. And, in fairness, the vast majority of scripts do suck and should, rightly, be rejected. It just that one - that diamond in the rough - that you saw and turned down. That's gotta hurt.

His story of regret regarding McQueen reminds me of a time in the 90s when I was walking through Dulles Airport, and Henry was sitting on a low wall looking like he was absolutely miserable about something. I recognized him instantly, of course, but out of respect for his privacy I didn't speak to him. On the way home I began to wish that I had just gone up to him and said something like, "Mr. Winkler, I don't know what's troubling you right now, but I'd like to say that you brought a lot of joy into the lives of a lot of people for a lot of years, and that I know this because my family and I are among those people, so thank you." Here it is almost 30 years later and I still wish I'd said that to him.

People keep remarking about the mistake with the bikes, that McQueen rode a different bike in the movie. But listen carefully to what Henry says, he never said McQueen rode that bike in the movie, only that he jumped the fence with it, it may very well have been a stunt bike used only in that one scene. Just a thought.
