The Oscars is the grand finale of awards season; the pinnacle of an actor's career, a celebration of the last year in film and a visual feast of old-Hollywood glamour on the red carpet. From the couture gowns to the finest of diamonds, the celebrities and their stylists pull out all the stops.
But what actually goes into dressing a celebrity for an event as important as the Oscars? We spoke to six celebrity stylists - Petra Flannery, Miranda Almond, Aimee Croysdill, Georgia Medley, Zadrian Smith and Sarah Edmiston - who shared their all-time favourite Oscars red carpet looks and talked us through the magic behind dressing the A-list for the annual Academy Awards.

Kate blanchette never ever wore a bad dress, she is always elegantly dressed, always with a edgy hi fashion twist, she also always look so comfortable in whatever she put on.

I’m surprised no one mentioned it, but my favorite Oscar dress of all time is Hilary Swank in the Guy Laroche navy blue dress. It was simple, elegant, completely timeless, but bold with that gorgeous blue color. She also added a touch of sexy with the bare back. The makeup!! The hair!! Her body!!! It was nothing but pure perfection.

Love that this video highlights the stylists!
My favorite Oscar gown was actually a suit, a white suit worn by Diane Keaton with a white beret, and the first time in Oscar history that a woman dressed in this way. It will stand out in my memory forever.

Diane Keaton is the style icon pioneer of the 20th century which has bled into the looks of the 21st
Anne Hathaway in Armani 2009, Sandra Bullock 2010, Naomi Watts in 2013, Lupita in the pearl dress, Viola Davis in the red dress when she won, Salma Hayek in the purple glittery dress, are some of my all time favs

For me it’s Michelle Williams in the canary yellow in 2007. I could look at those picture for hours. The red lip, Heath Ledger on her arm 🥰

When I think Oscar fashion first thing that comes to mind is Halle Berry and Gwyneth Paltrow in Ralph Lauren.
I love Emma Stones dress it was stunning particularly in video when you see it move

That was Jennifer Lawrence's 2nd nomination. Her first was for Winter's Bone and she wore a beautiful red Calvin Klein bombshell dress for her debut.... Get the facts right boo's
I think this video would have benefited from a professional lighting team. You have good quality sound and cameras, but the lighting is inconsistent and sometimes not even there. It really took me out of the video.

Y black pple gotta choose only black pple? I mean ik that white pple choose White pple but then they are genuinely some of the best dresses. I do understand there are not too many pple of color in hollywood. Hence more best looks belong to white pple.

There are plenty of black people who constantly turn it on the red carpet. (Lupita, Zendaya, Janelle Monae, etc). Why shouldn’t they choose looks that black women wore as their favourites?

In these "top looks videos" it often seems as everybody's having fashion crushes on people of their races sadly, they need to see themselves in it to really connect with it, too bad for them.
