Burt Reynolds being able to do a hilarious Burt Reynolds is actually the reason he came up with doing Celebrity Jeopardy. It was literally him writing up a skit so he could do Burt Reynolds impressions and it's FABULOUS. I can't quite remember the name of the guy who does Connery, but he proved to be astonishingly good too.

I love how Sean Connery hates Alex for no apparent reason 😂

He forgot to mention that we can see all of the various music and singers on all of the old SNL episodes. Stones, James Taylor, Paul Simon, Paul McCartney and many more.

Imagine Sean C. Actually saying these things. Hilarious. Great Voice.

I would say that the normal Jeopardy holds the same kind of cultural prestiege here in the US as, say, Mastermind is in the UK. Stephen Fry is set to do a UK celeb version of Jeopardy in... October, I think.

actually Jeopardy is much older than you think. In the sixties it was hosted by Art Fleming for many years before they got Alex Tribek.

One time when they did this sketch, the real Alex Trebek made a cameo. I think that was Will Ferrell's last episode as a cast member. In addition to Darrell Hammond as Sean Connery, it also featured Jimmy Fallon as Dave Matthews and Winona Ryder as Bjork.

I’m American but I have to say I Love British comedy.

Sean Connery and Burt Reynolds were always the best contestants. Sean was relentless hating on Trebek for no apparent reason.

Norm McDonald actually came up with Celebrity Jeopardy for SNL just because he loved mocking Burt Reynolds and it was the first way he could think of to jam that into the show. Darrel Hammond doing such a solid Connery turned out to be an astonishing bonus.

Since it's such an old reference, the Hilary Swank joke was that she forgot to thank her husband at the Oscars when she won for best actress. They kept doing this cheesy cutaway to him in the audience sobbing while she was thanking everybody.

Favorite exchange: Connery: "I'll take the rapists for $400, Alex!" Trebek: "That's THERAPISTS."

Mayim Bialik after Blossom went to college. BS in neuroscience and Hebrew and Jewish studies, as well as a PhD in neuroscience from UCLA..

Thanks for help with "FLICK". 🤔😂 SNL was a breeding ground for American comedy. My favourite was Norm Macdonald on "Weekend Update". Norm played a good "Burt Reynolds" on SNL Jeopardy alongside "Sean Connery" John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd developed characters from their musical sketches into "The Blues Brothers". Adam Sandler went on to make movies too. I'll follow @christined6321, "Keanu Reeves" looks like Tobey Maguire. Best Wishes, All ☮

Thank you for correcting them on Toby Maguire! Aykroyd/Belushi were about the best. Eddie Murphy as Mr.Robinson, Gumby, Buck Wheat and James Brown were awesome too! Most recently Kate McKinnon takes the cake, she is a comedic genius! Ms. Rafferty, Hillary, Kellyanne Conway, Jeff Sessions and all the rest helped me make it through those election debacles!

@@chueysmama2622 Hi! How are y'all doing? "Keanu Reeves" was clearly *NOT* Rob Schneider! I have rarely seen Eddie Murphy on SNL, only re-runs. In the stuff I've seen he was very variable. If he's doing *THE* James Brown, I'd like to see that. I'm fond of Dave Chappelle's Prince (blouses) & Rick James. Yes Kate McKinnon is exceptional; several steps above most cast members. My favourites are the "Ms. Rafferty" sketches, especially with Ryan Gosling "corpsing". She seems to have a real twinkle in her eye (ie. she seems mischievous, which is a great comedy trait to have). I didn't need to watch your election debates. So I didn't 😀 I only remember one or maybe two of McKinnon's "Hillary" sketches. I think one had Baldwin playing Trump. I followed Christopher Hitchens, so I was not a Hillary fan anyway. Do you know what "trump" means over here? From "this side of the pond" Jeff Sessions already seemed to be a parody of himself. What your friend didn't say is that the present hosts of Jeopardy are Ken Jennings who was a contestant and lasted 74 games, winning $252 million. The co-host is Mayim Bialik who was a TV actress but also has a PhD in Neuroscience.

Ken won 2.52 million, not 252 million.

The Sean Connery/Alex Trebek feud from SNL was a meme before there were memes here in the U.S. They actually tried to get Sean Connery on SNL to make a guest appearance during this, but he declined. Alex Trebek accepted however, and there is at least one sketch where he plays himself in this. This was a recurring sketch, and Norm MacDonald would play Burt Reynolds and be just as an antagonizing as Sean Connery. It was one of SNL's best skits.

Hey Squirrel, cool to see you on the channel again. But I will respectfully disagree with you when it comes to Keanu Reeves. The Matrix is great, but to me, he will always be best known for the American classic known as Point Break. 😉

I've been watching since day 1! Mayim Bialik is also a neuro scientist something or other. I THINK sha is a PhD. SNL has so many good ones it is hard to suggest any one. Great video Gentlemen!

One untrue portrayal is of Hilary. Jimmy is playing her as stupid. She is not!

I love most of this comedy but not calling the great Regis Philbin an idiot. He was one of the greats of tv.

Wayne's World did not originate on SNL. It actually originated on SCTV, a Canadian show, which was on a different network, and thus, a competitor of SNL's. I don't know if they ever did the sketch on SNL, but it's possible.

SNL was great until the mid 90’s it started losing its edge and got politically correct and very left leaning. The 70’s and 80’s were brilliant for SNL.

That was when SNL was funny...
