Welcome aboard the Celebrity Ascent! In this video, we take you on a detailed tour of our Accessible Verandah Room, 9228, sharing insights into its accessibility features and amenities. From the moment we entered the cabin after lunch, we were impressed by its thoughtful design and accessibility.
The door opens conveniently with an NFT key reader, eliminating the need to pull a heavy door, and there's a switch inside to open the door when leaving. The room is spacious, providing ample maneuvering space for a scooter or power wheelchair, especially near the window and bed.
We delve into each aspect of the room and bathroom, which are fully compliant with accessibility standards. Our room steward, Afif, ensured everything was set up perfectly for us, including the adjustable showerhead in the roll-in shower.
The infinity balcony, a highlight of the room, features a unique glass wall design. The top half of the left window can be lowered for fresh air or raised to keep out bad weather. However, the switches for the drapes and window are placed higher than ideal. The balcony itself is accessible, with a minimal rise for easy wheelchair access.
We also cover the bathroom's accessible features, including a dropdown shower chair and reachable controls for the handheld shower. Thoughtful touches like the emergency cord and well-placed towel rods add to the room's functionality.
In terms of dimensions, the room is approximately 13X25 feet, including an 8’ x 7’ bathroom. We discuss the closet's low clothes rod, the work surface's height, and the availability of multiple power outlets and USB connections.
The room's comfort extends to the furniture, with accessible heights for the couch, bed, and drawers. We talk about the clear space available for easy movement and the convenient placement of emergency call buttons and additional outlets.
As a concierge room, we enjoyed special perks like canapes and a bottle of sparkling wine, adding to our luxurious experience on the cruise.
