    It's wild and very un-European (as in a lot of counties justice system is based on "firstly, do not harm" unless the crime you committed was truly heinous). While I agree on life sentences, racking up years beyond 50 years doesn't seem... Logical. Also 71 years for robbery? What the hell that guy robbed? The Moon?

    For me Oscar Pistorius is the only one who is a recognisable name, other than a couple I recall reading about the trial, but hadn't heard of them before. The rest I've never heard of at all before this video. Perhaps the list is primarily of people known in the USA and since I'm from the UK, it's not surprising they are unknown to me.

I admit most I've never heard of either, and quite a few (e.g. Julian Assange, Beverly Allitt) seem to be there because they became well-known for their crimes, not because they were a celebrity who committed a crime. I tried looking a few up on Wikipedia and they weren't even notable enough to have a page.

    The gymnast coach, 60 years for unwanted touching. Definitely should have kept his hands to himself but if that's all he did 60 yrs is for that is not right, murderers have done less. We need standard unified sentencing for all offenses for the whole country. A person getting 10 yrs and another person getting life for the same thing doesn't make much sense.

    People don't necessarily 'rot' in prison. Sometimes they were rotting in life and turn their lives around in prison. Prisoners are human beings and deserve dignity and safety. They are paying for their crimes with 24/7/365 total lack of freedom, in some cases for the rest of their lives. That is punishment enough. The U.S. has failed miserably when it comes to corrections.

    They all were monsters who destroyed not only the lives of their victims, but also the lives of their families and loved ones. Sadly enough they are sentenced to 50 years for murder and come free after 5 years, that's ridiculous. No mercy!!!
