I loved her writing. She was a Ghanaian, through and through, and it showed in her works. She had interesting turns of phrases that mirrored its Ghanaian equivalents perfectly, carrying the same heft, in terms of meaning. She introduced me to plenty of matters in the Ghanaian community, in her books and short stories. I remember reading about ‘second marriages’ , ‘the struggle to please your African parents’ and how things were, changed and unchanged, after Ghana’s independence. As a reader, it’s very affirming to read your own reality, because you become much closer to it. I’m extremely sad that she’s left us. May her soul rest in peace.

Sad that such a woman;such a personality, had to quit the Ministry that educates the next generation after 18 months!

In some other video it is said that she quitted that position cuz (ironically) she couldn’t make education available to her peoples if she works for the government. It was very great of her!
