well that's how to get the draw open, where is the info on replacing the belt?

I have a Phillips DVD that has had very little use lately ( I suspect have many others have suffered the same fate due to all the available download mediums available these days) I was aware that the drawer was 'iffy', but today it had completely given up the ghost. I trawled KZread and others avenues on line with no real success, to try and solve this problem. The main problem was that I couldn't get to the drawer belt drive or open the drawer. I even started looking on ebay for a replacement. I was just about to give up when I came upon your site. I opened the drive by using your method, via the underside. This exposed the band which seemed all right, but was loose. I replaced it with a rubber band and 'voila', problem solved. I even realised why it had happened, when reading yours comments! The dvd has sat under a 'hot' sky mini box. So a big thank you in succeeding where many others had failed. Kindest Regards, John Bevan

I have a sony cd rcorder and had problem opening the drawer but managed to do it after watching yor video.When i've removed to top of my cd recorder i'd discovered that the belt had broken and only way to replace it is by removing the drawer altogether.Is there any easy of doing this please ?

I've been able to hook these belts out with a hook shaped dental pick in both computer optical drives and the CD player. Sourcing a replacement belt is a bit more difficult. It's a 1" square belt, and shouldn't cost more than a dime. Many sellers gouge you badly for this part.

Glad I saw your short video I have a old Cambridge universal DVD player and my drawer wont open. i took the hood off and just like yours I cant see the belt or gear so maybe it has that slot on the bottom to slide like you did. I was thinking of taking it in for repair but you know how that is it needs this and that and there you go more money to spend. I had this player repaired oh back in 2011.That time it needed a power supply it wouldn't turn on .So I always turn the switch off no more in standby. I bought it back in 2006 I don't have the heart to throw it out. Well ill see what to do it supports DVD audio and SACD

My 2 Toshiba dvd players have same fault,dvd drawer won't open pressing eject button on player or on the remote control,I have to push on tray front manually and then it will come open Once disc has played if I press eject button on remote control or on front of dvd player drawer will open automatically.Any ideas why it will open once disc is loaded inside player?.Any possible reasons much appreciated.

I was able to get my Yamaha CD-S300 drawer open by gently tugging on the tray with a dental pick. It still doesn't work, but I got it open. I've been able to play the first track, then it pretty much fails. I've ordered a new drive and a belt for it, should get the job done.

This is click bait since the title does not even come close to doing what the title states. It is like a video saying how to change your brakes and just showing how to remove a tire. The author should rethink youtube channel if they have to resort to these tactics
